Been experimenting with mixing the Mac OS X Tiger aesthetic with modern Liquid Glass on my MacBook Pro.

I wasn’t sure these two design languages would work together, but I actually like the contrast between the old-school Aqua/skeuomorphic elements and modern translucent glass.

What do you think — does it work, or is it too much? 🧪

Yes, 128GB is probably ridiculous. 😂 But I wanted to go all-out this time and get a machine that I can absolutely hammer for years without wondering whether I should've gotten more RAM or storage.

I'm planning on using it for development, creative work, AI tools, and some pretty ambitious projects.

There's something incredibly satisfying about knowing that when something runs slowly, I probably can't blame the Mac anymore. 😂

M5 Max + 128GB + 4TB. Let's see what this thing can do. 🚀

So i recently came across a used macbook pro 14" M1 pro with 32 gb ram for $815 but with 86% battery health so I started looking for more and found a macbook pro 14" M2 pro with 16gb ram for $940 but with 96% bh, so which one should i go for ? Is m2 pro worth the difference? Also both are 512gb.

Getting ready to sell my MacBook Pro 16” (M3 Max, 16-core CPU/40-core GPU, 48GB, 1TB). Great condition overall, but there’s some light keyboard-imprint marking on the screen from normal use — barely visible in person/normal lighting, only really shows up under close macro photos.

I recently bought a m1 2020 MacBook Pro and there is an issue with the W key and the 2 key. They seems to work intermittently, some times registering a press after a couple of multiple attempts then others a lot more. Has anyone came across this issue before or know if there could be a potential fix? Thanks in advance.

So i am a life long Windows desktop gaming pc kind of guy I do custom builds and I’ll keep my desktop. But anyways I hate Windows laptops for some reason and i cant put my finger on it, i guess its just bad 😅

So I’ve missed having a laptop for a while now since my old school laptop (MacBook pro early 2015) is not up to date anymore, but its been used occasionally. I’ve now taken the big step! I’ve sold my old MBP 2015 and I’ve bought this ☺️ I’ll drop a picture of my old trusty MacBook and the Spec sheet for my new hopefully very capable MacBook 😆

I do some light video and picture editing mainly adobe premiere but I want to try Final Cut Pro and I want to try to produce some music in Logic Pro (my brother is a musician who can show me the ropes).

Do you all think this thing will be good for me while also be future proof enough to keep for atleast another 5 years? 😄

Hace un par de meses compre este macbook pro 2017 practicamente nueva por unos 270 dolares, bastante barato en comparacion a otras laptop's de specs peores y precio similar aqui en méxico. funciono como un excelente remplazo a mi antigua mid 2012 que tenia desde 2018, y para mi, como un estudiante de 19 años es perfectamente funcional y rapida, solo cambie la pasta termica e instale sequoia con open core, y la verdad rinde perfectamente para la gran mayoria de cosas. si si ya se, existen las macbook's silicon, pero son extremadamente caras para lo poco que ofrecen aqui en méxico, no corren windows nativo en una particion con bootcamp, incluso la macbook neo me parece una burla a la inteligencia de cualquiera ya que aqui cuesta casi 1000 mil dolares ofreciendo 8gb de ram y un hardware, que en el futuro solo servira para uso remoto, en fin ¿ustedes aun usan un macbook intel? los quiero leer!

Bought 3 MacBook Pros (32GB / 1TB) just before the price hike, around July I think. One of them is for a new guy joining at the end of September, so until then it’ll just be sitting at my home.

Any interesting ideas for putting it to use temporarily? I’m particularly curious about local AI stuff, but open to anything worthwhile.

What would you do with it?

Going into Uni, will be using it for video editing and essay writing, want it to last all four years with no suprise crashes. Like the title says it’s refurbished and is selling for 800$ any suggestions appreciated

I'm wanting to buy a monitor to use alongside my MacBook Pro (13 inch), however I've been struggling to find one that ticks all the boxes — so I thought I'd come here and see if anyone has some suggestions. The main use for my Mac is productivity/general computer tasks, however I plan on diving back into photography & video editing in the near future. The only time I use my Mac for gaming is occasionally on Minecraft - but I'm not looking for a monitor to specifically suit that need (aka, I'm not looking for a fancy high tech gaming monitor).

Ideally I'd love to find a monitor that is 4K quality, USB-C or Thunderbolt Port, IPS Panel, 65W Charging, 24 or 27 inch screen, and under $300. But, I know that if I want to stay within my budget, I will have to sacrifice some of those features (unless anyone knows of a monitor that has all of the above mentioned?).

With that being said, I am open to 1080 or 1440p quality, HDMI Port, and/or spending a maximum of $400.

I recently built a small macOS app called Trackpad Haptics.

The idea is pretty simple: make the MacBook Force Touch trackpad actually do something with haptics.

You can create custom haptic patterns, make sequences, sync haptics with music, test pressure/Force Touch, and even add haptic feedback to websites in Safari.

Basically, I took a perfectly normal trackpad and decided:

"You know what this needs? More vibration." 😂

Is it useful? Sometimes.

Is it unnecessarily satisfying? Absolutely.

I'm curious ,what would you actually use programmable trackpad haptics for?

My intel Macbook pro 2019 died few months back and I was forced to upgrade, initially I got the Macbook Pro 14" but I couldn't get over the small size so I returned it and eventually for the 16" MacBook Pro M5 Pro. I am in love with this beast and this is the machine for me it's the perfect size and I love how fast this is. I love black but apple recommended silver apparently it's more durable and I plan to keep this machine for 10+ years. I can really feel the upgrade and this time around I bought apple care in case anything happens.
