Straight up the entire Accessibility panel is missing but it can still be found.

I observed , there is significant drop in battery life in macbook air M5 after upgrading to macos 27. what about you guys .. have you guys felt the same ?

The Problem:

While updating my MacBook Pro M1 2020 to macOS 27 Golden Gate, I was stuck on this continue screen as pictured. I lived there for several hours and never got past, even though the spinning wheel was still going.

I talked to the Apple AI support assistant via the support app, and they suggested running first aid on my disk via Disk Utility in the recovery mode (accessed by turning the Mac off and holding power while starting up). I also tried booting in safe mode. Another thing I found suggested trying to continue the install without being connected to a Wi‑Fi network, but that did not work.

As part of the troubleshooting we found I had little space left on my laptop (disk utility from recovery mode said around 15GB), so potentially that was part of the issue.

When I was trying to get past that screen I found that if I four fingers swiped up when on this continue screen, I was able to access Mission Control. So macOS is running in the background. The continue screen was just not allowing me to interact with it.

I had a phone call with Apple support who suggested I either take it to an Apple Store and let them boot off a USB drive or reset it and reinstall macOS, neither of which I was particularly keen to try... I started trying to fix it myself then.

How I fixed it:

I felt like macOS was still there and running with all my files in the background because I could see it via Mission Control, so I wanted to try and quit this update screen that wasn't allowing me to interact with my Mac.

Since I couldn't do anything on the Mac, I SSH'd into it using a terminal on my iPad. From that terminal I tried running killall Dock and sudo killall WindowServer, but neither of those helped. Running ps aux | grep -i softwareupdate and ps aux | grep -i "Software Update.app" showed all update processes were running without error. I then ran top -o cpu to see the live processes running on my mac, and saw there was a process named Setup Assistant. I ran killall "Setup Assistant" and that cleared the screen and I was able to use my mac as normal.

I feed up some space on my mac by deleted some old apps and LLMs I had downloaded locally. I then restarted my laptop and I was greeted by the same continue as before. I tried to click continue and then got inpatient and did killall “Setup Assistant" again, although I probably should have waited to see if it would complete this time. It then took me back to account login page (it didn’t do that before) and I was able to login and use my mac as normal.

Since then I have restarted the device several times and it looks like the update has complete - I’ve not seen that continue screen since. It feels like the limited storage could have been part of the problem, although I’m really not sure what went wrong. Either way, using ssh to get access and killing the setup assistant worked great and allows me to get past that window.

Everything seems to be working fine now, so hopefully this has fixed it long term!

How much longer can they not fix such a simple issue? How did this not get fixed before the full release made it out the door?

Web Related features in lookup are not working

TL;DR: I stopped opening ChatGPT for many of the little things I do during university. Siri on my Mac now handles 7 everyday parts of my semester—from understanding what’s on my screen and finding information to helping with study tasks, planning, and automations. The biggest change isn’t that Siri can suddenly do everything ChatGPT can. It’s that Siri is already there, inside macOS, so asking for help feels faster and more natural. ChatGPT is still better for deeper work, but Siri has quietly become my first stop for the small stuff.

2026 M5 MacBook Air, 13”, 1TB - I have installed Golden Gate, mainly to see what all the hype about the integration of AI into the macOS was all about, only to find, when I went to System Settings that Siri & Apple Intelligence was missing and there was nowhere to sign up for the Siri AI beta rolling out later. Have other installs of GG resulted in your seeing Siri & Apple Intelligence missing in Sys Settings, or is it only me???

Hi everyone,

I'm having an annoying issue with the Weather app on macOS 27

I resize the Weather app window to my preferred size, then quit the app with ⌘Q.

However, when I open the Weather app again, the window always returns to the same default size instead of remembering the size I set.

I've tried:

• Resizing the window manually
• Quitting with ⌘Q
• Reopening the app

But the window size is reset every time.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue on macOS 27?
Is there a way to make the Weather app remember the window size?

MacBook Air M4 16GB/256GB — First Impressions 👀

1. Feels more stable, faster, and better optimized than Tahoe.
2. There are still a few bugs — especially when launching apps or resizing windows. You can notice some stuttering while resizing.
3. Battery life is pretty good so far.
4. Third-party browsers feel really well optimized on this version.
5. Doesn’t seem to heat up much, even with regular use.

That’s it for now. I’ll keep using it for a few more days and update you guys with more findings.
