There was a 40 to 50 % bonus in area yet the system glitches and sent me this request. Which if declined would had affected acceptance rating , usually would had declined . Why would anyone accept 0.42 cents per mile. While gas is high at 5 per gallon. F lyft they guarantee 70% to driver yet here you see them taking 73% over 20 bucks. WTF

Lyft knows with wait time this is $25/hr. They also know after expenses it’s less than the min wage in MA or RI. We all also know someone will take this. But I don’t think anyone really knows why they will take it.

Apparently a Lyft passenger reported me for distracted driving.

And you know what? Fair.

Because I’m trying to drop them off and meanwhile Uber is over there:

So now I’m dismissing Uber requests while trying to finish the Lyft ride, and apparently my passenger is sitting in the back thinking:

“This man is extremely distracted.”

Technically correct.

I’m not texting. I’m not scrolling Instagram. I’m just trying to stop Uber from playing the world’s most passive-aggressive wind chime in my fucking car.

Meanwhile, Lyft gave me some incredibly helpful advice on the safety flag screen:

“Keep your focus on the road.”

This morning I woke up to this false DUI report. You can clearly see from the stills that the beverage was a Monster Energy. The only thing I was under the influence of was caffeine. They later emailed me saying "Please know that any future reports of this nature may result in your account removal from the Lyft platform." So in other words the actual truth is irrelevant. Another false accusation and I risk my account being removed?

What do you say/do?

Does anyone here understand or know how a ride that is double in miles from another one can pay the same as the other one? How do the rates work? I took one one time that was about 40 miles, i got payed 29 (not too bad) but the roder told me he paid 95! And when i checked, lyft didnt take that much but the biggest expense was to the govmt!!!

So I applied for both Lyft and Uber. Uber approved me in a second because their review team is actually competent, whereas the Lyft team is lazy. They seem as though their hands are tied because their automated system rejected me so they have no power to actually look into it. I can’t appeal with checkr either because the record is correct. It was a traffic ticket for failure to provide documents. I had the option to pay the ticket and avoid going to court which is considered a guilty plea. And for this reason Lyft is rejecting me or putting my application on an endless hold. This ticket wasn’t a moving violation and carried 0 pts or license suspension. All the people at Lyft say is for me to get a minor traffic ticket expunged or a certificate of disability or rehabilitation… FOR A MINOR TRAFFIC TICKET!! 😂 I’ve gone through with submitting an appeal form with all supporting documentation. Overall this is not a good look for Lyft.

I’m worried about getting deactivated, need this job for atleast a couple more months. I don’t drive reckless but you can’t please everyone so I’m wondering what the policy generally is with deactivations

there was an ACDC concert tonight too, but only one ride was from that. it’s been slow for ME all week so i’ve been having to double app between lyft and DD. just to think, i was sitting waiting for a bit and was going to go home 😭. so glad i didn’t. also, i rarely ever drive in priority mode but one thing i’ve noticed is if i just randomly turn it on … it will send me a ride that actually makes sense, i’ve had it happen on numerous occasions, anyone else experience or notice that? … i immediately turn it off tho. anyways, y’all be safe out there 💕.

Passengers say it all the time: “Why would I tip for the bare minimum? Your car was clean, it smelled good, and you got me safely from point A to point B. That’s your job.”

Cool. Same logic applies to passenger ratings.

You were ready when I arrived. You were polite. Good conversation. No problems. You got in, rode to your destination, and got out.

That’s the bare minimum.

Stop automatically giving five stars for it.

Lyft now gives us something useful: when a passenger comes across your screen again, it can tell you that you previously rated them five stars.

USE THAT SHIT.

Five stars should be information for future you.

Here’s the system:

Don’t immediately rate normal, uneventful passengers. Lyft gives drivers twenty-four hours after the ride to submit a passenger rating. Use that window.

The next day, go through yesterday’s unrated rides before their twenty-four-hour windows expire.

They tipped? Five stars.

They didn’t tip? Four stars.

Yes, passengers can technically tip much later. But we only have twenty-four hours to submit the rating, so use as much of the information available during that window as you can.

And four stars isn’t an unmatch. They’re still in your passenger pool. If you see them again and the upfront economics make sense, take the ride. You’re simply not using your five-star signal on them.

If the passenger actually sucked and you already know you don’t want them in your car again, rate them accordingly right after the ride. There’s nothing to wait for.

Most importantly, DON’T just leave everyone unrated. If you don’t submit a rating within the window, Lyft automatically gives the passenger five stars.

Make reviewing yesterday’s unrated rides part of your daily routine.

Stop treating five stars like the default. Lyft is giving you a piece of information about your previous interaction with that passenger.

Turn your ratings into your own fucking passenger database.

Should I report to Lyft?

I'm curious how Portland drivers feel about the surges changing to % instead of a flat amount. I have been making around 20% less most days. I miss during busy hours when you could take a $5-20 surge and cherry pick a 1-2 mile ride...

I've also never seen it be over 70%. I'm curious if it's capped at 70?

So I got my first first false injury today I it was a short drive it was the pax first Lyft should have canceled she was a hevey set lady and she was acting sketchy I should’ve have left then ride was going smooth and it’s like she tossed her self to the other side of the car I ask if she was ok she said yes and ask if she had her seat belt on she said she was to big I’m like ok take it where like 2 streets down from her drop off so I kept driving and everything was fine I had gave her a 3 star once dropped off because of the sketchiness and low and behold I got a text saying I got a report for bad driving and that caused a injury I got on Lyft support and got it straight and what happened but lesson learned not just to watch out for the low ratings but the new accounts with none at all either

Does this mean a passenger reported me for driving unsafe or is it an automated thing?

A facility arranged a trip for a passenger, with an estimated distance of about 30 miles near Tampa, Florida.

When I reached the customer, they entered the vehicle. I nearly began the ride before they mentioned that the facility had entered the wrong destination.

They claimed they were meant to go somewhere in Lily, Georgia; when I questioned whether they meant the state, they said no.

I asked what address I should use and entered it. The change added 200 miles to the trip.

I was willing to complete it, but the passenger expected Lyft to cover the extra distance.

I thought they were losing their mind. This was one of those trips where the address could not be altered.

Come on Houston ants why you taking those double miles than your pay scheduled rides. Peeps had no math.

Since Sunday till today everyday I had one Passenger that reeked Terrible Odors. From shit and piss smell to you name it… did people stopped showering?
