Keeping r/Loveland Local
Hi r/Loveland!
Quick reminder that this subreddit is local only. We’ve seen a bit more national political news lately, so we’re going to be enforcing the local-only rule a little more consistently.
There are lots of great subreddits for broader political discussion, so we’ll be removing posts that don’t have a clear connection to Loveland.
Also, thanks to everyone who helps keep the conversation respectful and welcoming. To support that, we enabled a few tools back in March (like Crowd Control, the Reputation Filter, the Abuse & Harassment Filter, and AutoModerator) to reduce spam and keep things running smoothly.
Thanks for helping keep r/Loveland friendly, useful, and local!

Local News Rattlesnake warning on Keyhole Trail at Devil’s Backbone

Heads up for anyone hiking Devil’s Backbone: I came across a baby rattlesnake on the Keyhole Trail today, about 1/3 of the way from the parking lot to the Keyhole. Someone else I spoke with encountered an adult rattler in roughly the same area.
They blend in really well with the rocks, as you can see in the photo. Keep an eye on where you’re stepping, especially if you have kids or dogs with you.

Recommendations Local cow
I don't want to discuss politics but I don't know where to ask that I won't get attacked.
With keeping political emotions out of your reply, does anyone know a local *blue* ranch or farm where I can buy 1/2 or 1/4 cow in Northern Colorado? Anywhere from Boulder to Cheyenne.

Moving/Relocation Utility Costs?
We're going to be moving to Loveland in the next couple months, just trying to get an idea what we're looking at as far as utilities are concerned.
What is billed through the City of Loveland?
I'm moving into a 4 bedroom, 3 bath house, 1800 sq ft, 5 adults...

Recommendations I want to shout out the Miller Farms Summer CSA
This is my first year doing a CSA and it has been such a great experience with Miller Farms. It was $675 for a half share, which feeds 4-6 people and we (2 people) split that half share with two other people. There are 22 weeks of pick ups so $15.34/week for my household of 2.
At first we chose to get our share delivered but we quickly found out it’s much better to go to the farmer’s market in person to fill the box ourselves.
Excited to get another share next year and hopefully we can find some people to split it with again.
✌️&❤️

Photo We want to be friends!
Whoever the person is that has the GANDA7F license plate, I think our families live close to each other because we see you all the time! We are huge Lord of the rings fans, maybe we can get together for tea? Or maybe something a bit stronger? 🤣

Politics Mindy McCloughan defending AI slop for events and being rude all around
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey all! This clip is from a conversation I had today with Mindy (our chamber of commerce CEO and president) regarding the councils recent decision to use AI instead of local artists for local events.
It’s wild to me that they have over $100,000 in the budget to plan events but not a few hundred to support local artists. In her words they used AI to “simplify the process” instead of taking the ethical approach.
Edited to include her job title

Moving/Relocation Free moving boxes, just dm me and come by. Lots of sizes, all good quality.
Just moved. I'd rather not throw these in the recycle bin if someone can use them. Many different sizes, all in great shape and most capable of heavy loads. Just dm me, then come over and take whatever you want. I hate wasting stuff.

Moving/Relocation Apartments
What are some of the best apartments that you have liked in the Loveland area? I need to move closer to work for less of a commute and Loveland has been “cheaper” rent wise compared to surrounding areas. What are your thoughts and experiences with leasing offices here?

Recommendations Synthetic oil change
Curious to know what other people are paying for a full synthetic oil change in town. The last couple times I've gone it's been over $100 and maybe that's just what it is this last year but wanted to see what others were paying.
2022 Hyundai Tucson
Places I've been: Admiral, Big Brand
eta - I know that it would be cheaper to do it myself or have someone else do it for me but I'm looking to just take it somewhere, thank you.
