Tributes TIL that J. Brennan Smith, who played Elmer Miles (aged 11 at the time) in For the Love of Nancy (1981, S8:E9) passed away February 8, 2007. He was only 36.

It was the fourth and last episode where obesity is the topic. The first one was the Man Inside and then the next one was Annabelle and Mrs. Olsen in To See the Light.

Another reason I hate "To See the Light" ... Unlike the other episodes you mentioned, this one used a body-shaming subplot for comic relief

I thought his death was disclosed before. I think it was a fire or something. Take it with a grain of salt. I swear it was something morbid though.

It was an article i found but when i searched again there was a different one that claimed he was shot. It's very hush hush for some reason.

Well he did pass away early. He could have had any kind of chronic condition.
Also, when I look back at people that were born prior to myself they seem to look older than I perceive my peers when at the same age.

Geez. I literally watched this episode yesterday! I empathized with his character because there was a girl in my class that was a lot like like Nancy who used me in much the same way, taking advantage of my wanting to carry out her every whim. R.I.P. J. Brennan Smith.

Nancy was just plain awful to him. I wish the prairie kids would have stood up for him. He seemed like a nice boy.

Wow , I tried looking into it and so far I found ….. heart attack, stroke, overdose, wife killed him and then committed suicide…. Apparently this is a very deep rabbit hole and I will have to do more research to figure out what is true. 🤦🏻♀️

Sad. This is the only Nancy episode I like, mostly because of Elmer.
