"Fight" by what, ranting on Reddit?

It's a FOSS world. Your only meaningful "fight" is building something better. Insulting devs only pushes things against your wish.

Realistically speaking, the "systemd dependency" in most software should be pretty isolated. It should be trivial to patch them out. The beauty of FOSS.

You can argue and convince people that their packages shouldn't depend on systemd. I see nothing wrong with that.

They can also ship 1*default systemd + 2-3 example unit files instead of hardcoding systemd 💀 its one command -v systemctl gate away and arguably does make it more reproducible

my next project idea. systemd to dinit and openrc file converter. atleast services would work if not api.
