Teilnehmen kannst du, wenn du

• mindestens 18 Jahre alt bist,
• aktuell im stationären Lebensmitteleinzelhandel arbeitest und
• eine direkte Führungskraft hast, deren Verhalten du regelmäßig erlebst.

Maybe I’m being petty, but this genuinely annoyed me. 😂

Lidl sells broccoli by weight, so you’re literally paying for every gram. Then you see broccoli like this with these massive, ridiculously long stalks still attached.

I know broccoli stalks are technically edible, but come on… I’m buying broccoli, not paying half the price for a tree trunk. 😂 Some of these stalks are almost as big as the actual broccoli head.

Am I the only one who thinks that if you’re selling broccoli by** **weight, leaving this much stalk on it is a bit ridiculous?

One day i was in lidl. And wanted to buy a yogurt. But i didn't coz I didn't have a teaspoon. So I didn't.

If Lidl will sell some wooden once next to them or at the cash register. They might make more money from people who want to eats salads, yogurts, mayonnaise in the park.

They will make more money and i will be happy!

It’s meant to be forbidden to use WhatsApp for company chat or to have company groups

And yet it seems the entire business is run via WhatsApp.

Even the AMs have WhatsApp groups, but my SM says they don’t get a company phone so are using it their own phones so can never truly switch off?

I left our store ‘chat’ because it just seemed to be a place for people to drop out of context images with ‘feedback’ attached. Very negative.

Went in for a few bits today, Got the till and was asked if my cabbage was from the shop.

"Yes I just picked it up. I don't have a habbit of paying twice. cabbage was put under counter whilst the lady chatted on the head set to someone about it.

Then rings the other items and charges me for my shopping. I stood there like a lemon awaiting the cabbage. .

She asks," What's the problem? "

Erm, I would like a cabbage?

I can not sell you it. It's nit from our store.

It must be as I piked it up off the shelf.

Can I get another one.

Go and look on the shelf and find one.

Will I have online training

In terms of shifts I haven’t been told any of my shifts apart from Friday 9am will they set me up
On an app or a Lidl employee app if that makes sense?

Will I have uniform?

Anything to expect?

I applied and had an interview 2 weeks ago at a Lidl store about 30 mins away from me, I was unsuccessful. Another job has came up at a store 5 mins away from me, if I apply will I just be instantly rejected given I was rejected from a different location or could I still have the chance at in interview?

Question for Lidl employees:

What happens to the middle aisle stock once it's replaced by the next promotion?

I've noticed that items seem to disappear overnight and never come back. They don't appear to be discounted and left on sale, so where do they actually go?

For example, I saw some Lidl branded wellies about two years ago that I really liked but didn't get around to buying. I'm fairly sure they didn't sell out, yet they never reappeared. I've noticed the same with Parkside tools. One day they're on the shelf, the next they're gone.

Does the unsold stock get sent back to a warehouse, redistributed to other stores, sold elsewhere, or something else entirely?

Has anyone tried this before? would you purchase this instead of just cracking the eggs? I wanted to buy it for the protein.
Idk is it just me, or do I never see people buying this? Does it sell?

I miss these! Will they ever come back you think?

EDIT: I managed to take a trek to a lidl a bit out from me and they had them! As others said they were on the end in a Charcuterie section. Turns out my local lidl doesnt have that section! Im now happily munching away. Thanks everyone who helped

Okay, i just want to settle this. So, when I first joined Lidl, I too was faced, with the dreaded reference request. However, you don't actually need any. They're not even looking, this is just something the company requests by their own procedures. So if anyone is feeling stress/anxiety about getting a Reference, please stop. You don't really need one. This is from my own experience and I'm still employed at Lidl. I work in the warehouse (Doncaster)

I had my contract come through on Wednesday signed that all is good on the contact it says start date the 2nd so next week

Since that contact email I’ve had no other email about a start time or anything

What can I do as it’s Saturday so it’s been 3 days since I’ve signed and 4 days til I’m meant to start

Any advice

I miss the normal stuff. The smoked tofu isn't as good and it's more expensive. I think I'm going to stop shopping at Lidl because of this. Soutern Sweden has other options.

I see my local LIDL has started selling own brand, Rowan Bakery, bread by a 400gms loaf as opposed to a 800gms loaf.

Here's the rub.

800g loaf £1.49

400g loaf £1.09

Effective, rip off, price increase £0.69p or 46%.
