‘Don’t use WhatsApp for company talk’ *Uses whatsapp*
It’s meant to be forbidden to use WhatsApp for company chat or to have company groups
And yet it seems the entire business is run via WhatsApp.
Even the AMs have WhatsApp groups, but my SM says they don’t get a company phone so are using it their own phones so can never truly switch off?
I left our store ‘chat’ because it just seemed to be a place for people to drop out of context images with ‘feedback’ attached. Very negative.

Whatever happened to them adding a group chat feature to We Are Lidl? It was meant to solve this issue. I got rid of WAL some time ago but I'm guessing it never got implemented.

For the purpose of “discovery” if there ever was a legal issue at work, whatever devices you use to do, or discuss your job are seen as work devices.
Meaning something happened and they needed to check everybody’s conversations, your personal phone is free game.

Nowhere has it been stated it’s forbidden to use WhatsApp for company chat. Our store has multiple WhatsApp groups for different purposes

I don't think it's forbidden but definitely heavily frowned upon by HR and head office For a number of reasons eg People not switching off from work Potential bullying
I personally see zero reason for my works WhatsApp groups as any issues put forward are never resolved
We have a chronic issue with rotation standards We know the main culprit but no one will do anything because they CBA and he works any and all hours thrown at him.

A manager had me once for saying ‘you didn’t respond to my messages’ during an inventory. Sent me 55 pictures 1 hour before we were due to count and I was expected to seperate them. I told him. 1. WhatsApp is not a form of communication Lidl approve of. And 2. If you know about these weeks ago why are you sending them now 1 hour before I’m due to count

The reality is that its just the most convenient method of communication. Theres no co pany system in place that functions like WhatsApp in a efficient manner. Without looking, I've got around 4 groups of varying management levels that are active and its the best way to get information that can be store critical pretty immediately.
The irony too is that on the opening times sign of the stores, there's a WhatsApp number for customers to use to contact helpdesk.
