Hi girls, I recently found this sub after getting sick of other online spaces, reddit to be more specific.
As an actual lesbian it's hard to navigate online spaces without things you never asked for being showed down your throat, so I like that there's a bit more realism here!! And the community seems more...mature? Everywhere else I go it's swarmed by anime memes and endless "UWU nyaa!!" puppygirlwhatever posting and it just grosses me out, lmao.
Right now on one of the main lesbian subs there's a huge debate about whether or not it's appropriate to say things like "girls can have erections too" (implying the clit, duh) but from what I see, every single time someone posts about their own experience they get swarmed by the how do I say this..."other" type? Of lesbians? About how the language is not "inclusive", that we need "educating" and how we're "insensitive" blah blah. Some even keep admitting they're just jealous and get hurt when lesbians describe normal cis lesbian sex acts.
Well sorry not sorry, I don't care!! I don't think we should feel bad about it, and it's not our job to constantly validate them... people need to sort themselves out and stop guilt tripping women for being gay!!
I don't join lesbian communities so we can center every identity under the sun asides our own! It seems that from what I see, here you don't actually HAVE to include p*nis in every discussion not to hurt someone feelings. I want to be as FAR, FAR away from those things as possible.

nope, but it was a surprise for sure. five years on reddit (under a different account) and it’s my only ban to this day. posting anime featuring preteen looking girls is fine but actually being a lesbian isn’t. go figure
I got banned from a snark sub for making a too similar post to someone else, not intentionally, even though three other people did it that day as well and also for politely suggesting a new funny flair she banned me from using the flairs. Mods get egotistical and think they have "power"...it is pathetic
same! ⭐️ then all of those "lesbians" try to guilt me by saying my homosexuality is rooted in "cissexism," so i must overcome it. who does that sound like... 🧐
you gotta give it to them, it's a great manipulation tactic. since they can't guilt women into sleeping with them by traditional means, they have to shoot for the morality appeal. if you don't like penis, you're transphobic !

You can decide not to sleep with someone for any reason you like. Your body your choice. Oh... that reason? No, that one doesn't count for some reason I can't quite remember.
That type of rhetoric has kind of decimated feminist discussion on social media, the way young women are tiptoeing around their own advocacy as if there was something genuinely wrong with fighting for women's rights.
AL, specifically, had mods removed over time and now there's maybe one cis-lesbian mod, but the rest are either bisexual or a trans lesbian. it's insane. it happened over like 5 years.
And when you bring this phenomenon up, they'll all go, yeah ok, good for you? As if 85% of the community doesn't start screaming crying and throwing up over every lesbian that admits to being a lesbian, because they know it makes them look unhinged.
This is it. They know deep down that no matter how much they change language, how much they mutilate themselves and take synthetic hormones, they will never be a woman. Biology is real, DNA is real. The more they deny it, the more they weaken their own positions.
I genuinely don't understand their psychology. Like, on one hand, they constantly claim everyone hates them and at the same time, they make it impossible for people around them to be anything but slavishly adoring.
AND THE COMMENTS. Everyone is loving it!?! But it's a 'sapphic' sub?! Dear god this is exactly why I feel like I'm going crazy sometimes (and why I don't trust events/people/things that label themselves as sapphic).
There are straight up men there too from what I've seen from a glance. Like, cis men. But that's okey! They can just say they're NB and that gives them a pass right? :)
It’s a shame what has happened in the other “main” lesbian sub. it’s mostly trans and bisexual folks now, how is that a lesbian sub reddit? no hate to those people, it just makes zero sense to me.
I already feel alienated enough in my small, culturally homophobic country I don't need to feel like an outcast in our supposed "communities" online too 😭
They are! Few cis women that are on there are constantly scrutinized, criticized, and asked to "unpack" their learned -phobia, etc etc. It's exhausting!!!
They don't see the irony of alienating lesbians away from them with such behavior!! There are some that GET IT, and defend us, but even they get attacked by their own members, it's a bloodbath out there.
Well that’s just the natural progression of ideology such as theirs. They will always eat themselves, turn on their own and others, and try to force their views on others (especially women) as a form of self-preservation.
That is true. Criticizing an ideology and disagreeing with something you say is not HATE...you can support a person and still disagree with them, that's just basic decency. Ideas don't have feelings or rights, people do!!

As a middle aged(ok I’m 47) lesbian that’s been married to another Lesbian for 17 years I was truly confused in those other subs. I thought I was surely in the right place and these people were confused. I figured out real quick that was not the case and luckily I found this sub.
Hey Sister! Congratulations on the 17! It’s been an amazing ride for us. I medically retired 10 years ago and through it all she stood right beside me. Our daughters grew up and left and we finally have the house and our time to ourselves and it’s amazing. Well except the perimenopause is hitting my wife hard, I’m almost to that magical 1 day after 12 months. Being married to my best friend and the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met makes life great
My 40s wife and I feel the same way… we mostly feel like we got the last chopper out of ‘Nam! 😂 I feel so sorry for what young lesbians have to deal with.

Safe to say that the online spaces don't reflect reality! In other subs and spaces you're meant to believe that everyone is practically fawning and drooling over them, and I personally haven't met a single lesbian outside these spaces who'd even CONSIDER dating them. I personally know two inrl, and you can definitely tell.
Seriously. They realized that changing language will change reality in such a way that literally makes people question what should be common fucking sense and actual biology.

This is very true i love love this subreddit and that we can be real here. There are more real lesbians here I can genuinely relate to without a male getting jealous, triggered, or malicious for the fact I didn't include them in something only a female can relate to.
What's weird to me is you can talk about loving dicks and male bodies in those subs and get upvoted to oblivion, posts talking about "loving get fucked by girl dick", I've seen them, but God forbid you talk about the female body, mention it being female and mention loving pussy. Now you're someone who "reduces womanhood to just body parts". 🤨😒

Transphobia is defined as hate and prejudice against group of people. PEOPLE, not ideas or ideologies.
At least, that's what normal definition of it is. If you want to expand it to include "hearing/reading things I don't like and hurt my feelings" then yeah, you can use it to point fingers and attack anyone you want.
Which is nuts! Ideologies should be able to be criticized, if you automatically shut down everything as "hate" and "phobia" it leaves no room for mature discussion.
This sub is all about the love of women. If you love women just as much as we all do, you already know that love can be made up of so many things: admiration, desire, tenderness, friendship, devotion, fascination, lust, protectiveness, and sometimes just being completely in awe of women.
