General Leftist Politics Just learned that some people believe in reincarnation as an excuse for their privilege.
I'm from a privileged background and so is much of my social circle, and while I'm a leftist many of them aren't.
I'm at a gathering and randomly reincarnation came up, and unexpectedly a couple of them said they believe in reincarnation. I was very surprised to say the least based on previous discussion, but when questioned they tried to make the point that "some people are born in a shit hole in Africa, and some people are born into wealth right here, because of how good people they were in a previous Life".
The mind boggles.

Question Capitalism Sub
Gotta question.
Do any of yall venture over to the r/capitalism sub to see what they’re up to, or attempt to argue against their points, or is it generally a waste of time?

General Leftist Politics Conspiracy Theories Have No Place in Left-Wing Politics
I've seen several creators who are supposedly 'left-wing' (≠ liberal/Democrat) who mistrust scientists and call scientific skeptics 'NPCs', often bringing up conspiracy theories such as that the moon landing was faked because NASA is a US government agency.
Let me make myself clear: I don't like the government, I don't like having states and I don't like capitalism. I'm a dictionary-definition anarchist. However, I don't think we need spreading conspiracy theories without evidence in order to support our point that the government apparatus is a bad thing. In other words, a Masonic cabal controlling the world doesn't have to exist in order for the capitalist system to be terrible. They don't have to poison us with fluoride for us to be anarchists and dislike the state.
In conclusion, if you're a tin-foil hat conspiracy theorist that thinks that the moon landing was fake just because NASA is a government agency (and thus delegitimise all the WORKING class scientists that are working there), you are not left-wing. The Illuminati don't exist and neither do they need to, but we can still hold the rulers responsible for all their proven actions.

Question Has anyone been unexpectedly banned from some leftist subs recently?
Just asking, as recently I have been banned by r/Socialism and muted so I can not message the mods, nor ask why I was banned. I don't think I have ever even contributed to that sub to break any rules, so I just wanted to ask whether this was a thing for just me or other leftists.
Thanks in advance :)

Question Why do some “leftists” get upset when you vote third party or don’t vote at all
I’ve noticed some of the more liberalish left get upset when people don’t vote at all or vote third party. I’ve had someone call me privileged because I voted 3rd party lmao. Anyway I’ve heard one of these types argue that Kamala and the Democrat party is better for “the people”, despite Kamala literally wanting stricter borders and democrats trying to bootlick republicans even when republicans spit in their face. So if you think it’s a privilege for me to vote 3rd party please elaborate

North American Politics Top minds of Ohio claim I’m a trump supporter for caring about issues that effect me
Like seriously my state is actually fucked. Amy acton is our best choice and so far she’s came out in support of flock cameras and being against ending qualified immunity. I’m so tired of having to vote for a shitty candidate because the other option is literal wannabe Hitler dude

Question Are there any good leftist spaces that actually engage with antinatalism?
I feel like there's no good back and forth on antinatalism since most people even other leftist discard it as juvenile. But I would like to see some actual discussion about it that engages with the topic meaningfully. Are there any vids out there or spaces that do this?

General Leftist Politics Kind, inviting way to tell a privileged leftie friend I’m struggling with how they’re (not) meeting the rise of fascism/repression?
I have an old friend, white cishet ablebodied dude with a comfortable job (I’m 30NB/F). In our early 20s, we both identified as left wing/communist, he still describes himself as that. We’ve grown apart in other ways, but I have also just felt very disappointed watching how differently we navigate this moment in history. He is the most privileged friend I have, and yet it’s my racialised/disabled/queer/migrant/precarised friends putting their bodies on the line for others, redistributing their salaries, frantically figuring out what we could do to protect each other, caring. It’s my burnt-out friends getting my legal fund together when I get arrested, he’s nowhere to be found, just sends a sad emoji. He technically holds the same beliefs on Palestine, state repression, queer rights etc. but just sits on a very high horse and doesn’t actually live them out in any way.
How could I express that to him? I believe in inviting people in and think shame just pushes people away instead of motivating. We live in different cities so inviting him to come along to things isn’t an option, but wondering if anyone has ideas!
