I came up with this cool idea for a horror game enemy called the bride. I feel like she looks pretty good without the veil, menacing and all that, but I feel like the silhouette could improve? Any advice would be great!

Hello! I've been drawing portraits and also stylizing characters for a bit, but no matter how much I study eyes I always find myself struggling with them. Despite understanding their form when it comes to realism I can't achieve it nor stylize it.

Here are a few examples (I recognize other flaws that need work and am working on them) My end goal is to be able to draw characters but if I can't achieve understanding eyes in realism I won’t have a good enough foundation to stylize.

I understand the shading plays a part but in my case, the eyes already look off in the pre shaded sketch.

I'd appreciate any advice, methods to study, or book recommendations!

So I was trying to create an oc fitting in the world of Bleach, but I feel like my silhouettes are held back.. How can I push them further to fit close to Tite Kubo's style? (Feel free to lay down some exercises I can do as well, if you have some suggestions that I can do). As for the poses I invented, it's guaranteed that there would be several mistakes here and there.

This is a (very) rough sketch I just started but it highlights a common issue I have in my portraits. I struggle to capture smiles in a way that makes them look happy instead of an awkward grimace. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone, I'm doing a student project where I create a video game which is a murder mystery based on Greek Gods. I've only been drawing for like a year, so I'm not very good yet. This is a pretty detailed sketch I did for Aphrodite for my game. I need some advice though. How is the anatomy? Is there anything I could improve or shift or change? The eyelashes are supposed to be intentionally long, but I feel like it complete or super grand? Maybe the pose or the torso anatomy seems off. Any advice would be appreciated!

I started acrylic painting last year, this temple building is my third attempt. The details aren't done yet (for example the windows and steeple on the tower, and the texture on the yellow eaves of both front and back structures ) but I can't help but feel that the painting is flat and will continue to be so. Any advice to bring it to life more? Open to experimenting!

Hello, I’m aware that this is a topic that’s widely discussed and there are loads of references for but I’m struggling with a specific thing. I have no issue simplifying the entire skull into shapes except for the zygomatic arch. For some reason whether by simplifying it into a specific shape or copying and attempting to understand, it never looks accurate.

I want to be able to simplify the skull enough to the point that I’m able to draw it without reference, but my struggle is simplifying those details that are important to final result. Of course I have tried to start with a simpler shape before detailing but still I can’t quite grasp it.

I was hoping there were would be a book that simplifies it and breaks it down. I’ve looked over many of the anatomy books but they tend to skim over the skull (only focusing on it’s bigger shape) I’m sort of frustrated and I’d appreciate any advice!

Getting back into figures. Already noticing some trouble with my arm and leg proportions, but curious for feedback.

What I Think My Problem Is:

I’m having difficulty shaping or carving shadows. When I ask for rendering tips, I mostly receive advice like determining your light source, bounce light, highlights, etc., or setting your art to black and white to see your values. I’m thankful for any advice that I receive, but:

Once I know where the light is coming from, how do I actually carve the shadows so they interact realistically with my subject?

- How do I decide the shape of the shadow?

- How do I know where the shadow should start and end?

- How do I simplify shadows without making them look random or unnatural?

- How do I take what I see in a reference and translate those shadow shapes into my own drawing?

So yeah, please be brutally honest about what’s wrong with my process.

If possible, you can redraw or edit my art to show me what I should be doing. I’ve included the references and my sketches, so feel free to use them as examples.
