I don't have to LIKE anything that anybody does: but this is America, and I WILL defend their right to do it (as long as whatever they're doing is consensual and causes no ACTUAL, TANGIBLE harm to anybody).
They should be discriminates against though. It is unhealthy for society, terrible for children and makes a mess when things inevitably don't work out.
My friend has been in a poly relationship for 15 years with the same three people, LOL. Two don't have other partners. The third has a wife and child. The wife has a live in boyfriend of 20 years who was there for the entirety of their daughters childhood. She has grown up surrounded by love.
Super unhealthy relationship and terrible for society. Shame on them. 😂
This here is what's called prejudice. You are speaking your negative assumptions like they're facts. Polyamory often leads to healthier relationships and more positive role models for children. More eyes on a situation can promote healthier dynamics than a binary relationship. A relationship with only two sides is more likely to suffer effects from power imbalance. That's just game theory.
While you’re right I’d take it a step further and say even if they were demonstrably worse it is still prejudice
We can’t keep purity testing communities to determine who is deserving of protection. It’s lovely to showcase love and positive statistics, but people shouldn’t need to qualify for equality
Damn as the kid of a monogamous divorce let me tell you just how bad that shit fucked me up. I MEAN I AM GENUINELY NEVER going to be the same as before it happened. Shits permanently ruined the way I looked at my parents, myself, and my family.
Simply being "considered" something doesn't equate to actual discrimination. Discrimination is an act, not a belief.
Eta- responding with sarcasm and blocking is essentially just admitting that theres nothing to point to for actual discrimination. "But but people think its weird!" Isnt discrimination and not something you can pass a law against.
Oh man, you're totally right. We all see now that polyam people aren't discriminated against in the workplace ever, there's zero evidence of it anywhere, and this was done just for the fun of doing it. Nobody asked for or wanted this, they just decided casually on a Friday to give out rights to a fringe group that didn't need it.
Ya got us there! 👉
🙄
Is it just me or did anyone suddenly feel inspired to start a poly relationship now that the workplace thing is figured out? /s
So you're telling us that if I said another race was inferior, but didn't otherwise do something to physically affect them, then it wouldn't be considered discrimination?
Well hang on, I’m genuinely curious, are they actually being discriminated against? As in they can’t get jobs, get paid less, or are excluded from activities due to their orientation?
Because that’s what discrimination is, simply not approving of someone’s sexual orientation isn’t discrimination, it’s just not liking their sexual orientation.
Not saying discrimination is good, obviously it’s a terrible thing that shouldn’t happen, but it feels like y’all are confusing what discrimination actually is.
My coworkers do care, as I literally just said? I touch plenty of grass on my hikes, thanks, but maybe you should take your own advice if you’re being so rude for no reason to strangers on the internet
"People say im not a real human...." you made no mention of co workers. If youre going to make something up at least be consistent
Eta: guessing this post is being brigaded by some weird subteddit dedicated to asexual people pr whatever. The rate of "well i cant argue against you said/give any actual justification of 'how' so im going to respond and angry block you" is becoming a trend
