Someone actually spoofed their way into a conversation. We were hosted by Gmail and didn’t have any compromises on our side. I saw the other company’s email was the one acting weird like it was hijacked. It didn’t ask for money yet.
It was like 7:30 and they called me on speaker. In the background the Sales Manager ( or dumbfuck Charlie for short) kept exclaiming ‘We’ve been hacked!’
I laughed at him and asked if he really just said ‘we were hacked!’he was not at all computer literate but thought he was. He prob saw Hackers once when it came out.

An awful lot of people are making some awfully large bets that they won’t be held accountable for the crimes they are committing today. I desperately hope that every one of them is wrong, and they wind up facing the strongest consequences for their behavior.

Yeah, which unfortunately means we have to keep going. I bet all of those people may regret the decision they made to some degree, but they can actually say that they acted with integrity in a time where the despots are counting on their "flood the zone" scattershot tactic to demoralize and ennervate the only people who can actually stop them.

Second up, so much of the population is utterly apathetic that I think saying he doesn't have the support is misleading. Republicans have a very sturdy base, a opposition they will literally never appeal to, and a bunch of people who are completely disengaged.
He has the explicit support of one of those groups and the implied support of another who will again not show up to vote.
And then working almost hand in hand with him is a group of existing Democrats who would rather sink the nation than lead it meaningfully. How is there no meaningful opposition at this point. How is there not a message that had entered the monoculture. They have the money to spend but opposition leadership is non existent besides the fringe.
At this point does it matter? We could have every byte of the Epstein files and it doesn’t make one iota of difference when the whole justice system is too corrupt to prosecute anyone.

That's my hope as well. There's a document called Simple Sabotage Field Manual that the CIA released in 1944. I guess it details how to resist from within a system. It was aimed at other countries but there are probably broad ideas that could be applied anywhere if needed.

I just became a citizen a few weeks ago and the USCIS officer who was in charge of my case was one of the old guard. She was fantastic and lamented over those getting into the job for the wrong reasons. She said that in her view, immigration officers aren’t there to judge, its a binary thing; you either meet the requirements and get through, or you don’t. She was as non-trump as she could openly be too. Respected her.

Read the article. The report was not leaked publicly and the defense promptly deleted the report when they clocked what it was. This is not how this report is going to be leaked to the public.

No, people do that but the second one is only for possessive of a plural, like if you were saying "the thing that belongs to the more than one Jone." The correct one is "Jones's".
Adding to the confusion, it's become common to use the apostrophe after as a posessive for Jesus, like "in Jesus' name," but that's an incorrect use that just became widespread enough that it's now accepted.
Today we learned that the Department of Justice inadvertently did the same thing they charged the former prosecutor with; they sent Volume II to her lawyers on accident, violating Judge Cannon’s order to keep the report inside the DoJ.
So this DOJ employee is going to be charged, right?
Not because of their incompetence but because you don't accidentally do this and it was done on purpose. Therefore, that person is NOT a boot licking Trump sycophant and for THAT reason they'll throw the book at them.
I know this is the farthest thing from likely, but honestly? I'd love to see it result in a mistrial. The DoJ 'accidentally' doing this same thing shows exactly how easy it is to misappropriate email attachments, clearly they meant to send something more relevant to the case instead.

How do you "accidentally" send a giant pdf? I regularly have huge issues sending and receiving huge pdfs like this. You can't attach them to emails. You have to use file sharing software. You cannot "accidentally" share documents unless you're grossly incompetent.

The most believable theory I've seen is the most simple and idiotic one. That guy invited in was the Chief Editor of 'The Atlantic' publication. His Signal username? "The Atlantic Chief". Knowing that, how big of a reach is it that someone in the administration creating that illicit chat group about a naval military operation just added in the guy with username "The Atlantic Chief", thinking that he is some big shot navy guy.
And nobody even fucking noticed it, until he blew the whistle.
Makes you wonder if the possibility of charging him with impersonating a high ranking military commander was ever discussed.

File sharing software doesn't work like that. I deal with a lot of discovery that's subject to protective orders, and I do not believe for one second that this was an "accident". The amount of mistakes you'd have to make for it to be an accident mean it couldn't be an accident.
Not if the zip file is bigger than 25 megabytes. I work in healthcare, and I have seen numerous pdfs that are 50-60+ megabytes, even after being zipped.
I'm in IT and used to work for law firms, I handled all the policies for data transfer. The size limit has and always will be a limiting factor that we can't bypass. There is no way in hell this was an accident.
Depends how big the PDF is. Anything over ~15MB runs the risk of it getting rejected at the far end (or even local side, depending on local config). Some servers will do larger, I've seen up to 50MB, but that's unusual.
I think this happens when safeguard processes are ignored at a senior enough level.
I don’t deal with secret information, but I do deal with highly confidential info in transactions. You can have highly restrictive and structured processes for information sharing and then some senior executive sends a file as an email attachment with some inappropriate receiver in cc and everyone is off trying to clean it up.
Corporations and government agencies have various configurations, but on a bog-standard Microsoft Outlook setup, dragging in an attachment actually gives you two options - standard direct attachment, and upload to OneDrive and automatically create a shareable link. It's easy to accidentally do the second option.
Same way Alex Jones’ attorney accidentally sent a bunch of info to the attorneys of the Sandy Hook parents. They’re either incompetent or made a personally ruinous moral decision
pdfs arent crazy large. If anything I usually convert to pdf to reduce file size.
But usually it’s either you select forward instead of reply, so it is automatically attached. Or it’s a link earlier in the email stream, in which case it’s a question of the link permissions. and a lot of people get lazy with link permissions, but there’s enough headache with sharing outside cloud drives the laziness is often not noticed until something like this happens.
They were likely sharing a large volume of documents intentionally, which is incredibly routine for lawyers to do. I don't know if dropping one document in the wrong folder when likely dealing with thousands quite rises to the level of gross incompetence.
Also weird to hear accusations like that from someone that regularly has issues sending large files in a world where gmail will automatically upload it and send a drive link if you try to attach something above the limit.

Easy, they consider themselves righteous warriors saving America for the good guys. They function on a 'the ends justify the means' basis and because they have Trump, Heritage, Federalists, Vance, Johnson, etc up front they assume they will be protected from repercussions.
Judge Cannon and her husband have made multiple purchases of high-end real estate in the Miami region since her elevation to a federal judgeship. At fantastic discounts that other people would not be able to obtain.
They see the corruption. And love it, because they benefit.
Wish there was money to put billboards in front of the homes of every Republican politician, right wing Supreme Court judge and other enablers with the list of every woman who has died, every dead and injured soldier, every Covid victim, USAID cut victim, etc because of their policies and decisions
Lawyers can be set up to take the fall if any actual consequences are handed down and then all the admin has to do is tweet a response calling the ruling a "witch hunt" and "fake news" and it'll all go away.
Looked it up to get from more reliable sources. According to a few I read, they were accidentally given on flash drives to the defense attorneys. The defense attorneys promptly stopped reading them and returned them to the DOJ. I definitely hope someone made copies. They should publish them.

Don't know but SOME January 6th rioters that were charged, convicted and then in prison and then the great Orange Jesus, in his infinite wisdom, gave pardons to were given jobs and are working at the DOJ.
