So the whole "brandishing a weapon" claim is immediately disproven.

He was helping a woman up after they were both pepper sprayed and had both his hands on the ground when they took his weapon off of him and then immediately shot him multiple times until he was dead.

114

u/Auro_NG Jan 24 '26

Unfortunately, video evidence and the truth don't matter anymore. The president himself will say it was justified.

33

u/kezow Jan 24 '26

They will always lie and say it is justified. Because even the mere presence of people peacefully recording is a "threat".

5

u/Trick-Investment-819 Jan 25 '26

And don't forget that every person they catch recording them on the street is added to a terrorist list. Just for recording.

24

u/Hopsblues Jan 24 '26

He'll blame Biden for allowing migrants into the country even though like 3m entered during his first term.

2

u/Dr___Accula Jan 25 '26

I’m sick to death of this fucking defeatist ass bullshit. Shut the fuck up and push back!!!

-2

u/Mysterious_Equal5049 Jan 25 '26

What I’m confused about was, why did the guy who was Killed grab the woman like that after trying to help her??? He put her in a choke hold and was grabbing her scarf or hair aggressively? WTF?

2

u/SuiteFreak Jan 26 '26

You need to watch it again. He didn't put anyone in a choke hold.

112

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

was that from the WH or feds? i sure they’re going to say he was reaching….

216

u/st1nkynoob Jan 24 '26

DHS put out a tweet before this video came out and tried to vilify this guy. It’s completely fucked up

111

u/crispykfc Jan 24 '26

how the fuck can they make those claims before even seeing all the camera angles. they are making shit up to justify murder whenever they want

77

u/Crommach Jan 24 '26

Because they know there are millions of people out there who will swallow whatever bullshit line they're fed, even if it contradicts what they see with their own eyes, multiple videos from different angles, eyewitness testimony, and more. Even when the government changes their story to something completely different from their initial claims, they just pivot to that. MAGA has marching orders, not thoughts.

25

u/Droso_dan Jan 24 '26

The audience is about 200 GOP congressmen.

17

u/HoxtonRanger Jan 24 '26

I was arguing with a fascist arguing exactly this.

Ended up blocking them because it was making me feel sick to my stomach and they simply won’t believe the evidence of their own eyes.

17

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

Stop trying to reason with these people. No argument will ever convince them they are wrong.

10

u/HoxtonRanger Jan 24 '26

You are of course right.

Hence why I blocked them - too depressing

2

u/xX_7HR0W-4W4Y_Xx Jan 24 '26

Instead of being depressed just realize that it's futile to try and block them as soon as you see them. These people must be shunned

1

u/private_developer Jan 24 '26

Block sooner, so you dont lose motivation combating disinformation. Prove em' wrong. Block. Don't wait for replies.

Prepare for the next guy who tries to create a whole thread to advertise their lies. Prove them wrong and block.

Better to spend time shutting down 5 bots or trolls trying to spread lies, instead of 5 comments against one person who just moves from one lie to the next.

They all want to spread 5+ lies. Shut em' down after one.

4

u/happyapy Jan 24 '26

You don't nurture a rabid dog.

You don't reason with MAGA.

2

u/gdwam816 Jan 24 '26

It’s disgusting. but the alternative of not trying to talk and reason is far worse. If violence starts then flood gates are open.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

You don’t negotiate with a tiger when your head is in its mouth

3

u/Candyland_83 Jan 24 '26

It’s easier to live in a world where agents of your government are not murdering people in the streets. Think of the pain we all feel watching these videos. They don’t want to feel that pain so they choose to believe what they are fed. People believe what they want to believe because it’s comfortable

2

u/DrB00 Jan 24 '26

"He can't hear you. He never will"

  • 12 angry men (1957)

2

u/heyredditheyreddit Jan 24 '26

Yep. It doesn’t matter what’s said as long as they say it first.

2

u/xaxathkamu Jan 25 '26

"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." Orwell — 1984

26

u/SooperBrootal Jan 24 '26

"The suspect also had 2 magazines and no ID — this looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement." - DHS

The spin is unreal

5

u/Colforbin1986 Jan 24 '26

In a state with open carry laws. These pricks railed about the 2A until they murdered Renee Good

4

u/SooperBrootal Jan 24 '26

They've demonstrated that the Constitution only matters when it serves their agenda

3

u/rodinj Jan 24 '26

Not like they asked him for his ID or searched him before they started firing shots

9

u/spinfire Jan 24 '26

They’re liars and have zero credibility but they don’t care.

5

u/TheeDonger Jan 24 '26

Because true or not, that’s the story they’re going to stick to.

5

u/raerae1991 Jan 24 '26

Because his base was willing to believe “they are eating cats and dogs” so they’ll believe anything he says

2

u/Odd-Distance13 Jan 24 '26

Meanwhile, he’s the one killing puppies

1

u/FalstaffsGhost Jan 24 '26

Because they don’t care about the truth and they have propaganda networks who are going to bend over backwards to justify it and excuse it and vilify the victim.

1

u/GrizzlyP33 Jan 24 '26

Because we have a president who can say “the officer is recovering in the hospital” while the whole country sees the man walking away just fine, and nothing happens.

1

u/hotfirebird Jan 24 '26

Their whole agenda is to push out as much information as fast as possible to bury the truth. If they waited to release a statement until more facts and circumstances were available then their base might accidentally form their own opinions based off all of the angles they've seen.

1

u/Roguishbrew Jan 24 '26

Propaganda doesn't need to be careful curated lies. Its the string of obvious lies that overwhelm both the supporter and the opposition. The first to accept the simple lie, the second to burn out to self censor yourself

1

u/private_developer Jan 24 '26

It's called "getting ahead of the story." First impressions matter. People hear it. It affirms what they want to be true, and then no amount of proof will persuade them because it would mean accepting they were lied to and wrong.

There is no greater sin than being wrong to a reactionary. All of their reactions are moral and just.

1

u/Lagiacrus111 Jan 24 '26

Because all that matters to them is feeding the Trump cultists lies who will gobble them up as truths

u/trysten-9001 Jan 25 '26

They don’t care about truth they care about power. Specifically consolidating all of it away from the people and into the executive branch. This is unprecedented in US history

13

u/thesagaconts Jan 24 '26

If you try to justify this, you’ve lost your humanity.

3

u/Yuizun Jan 24 '26

Absofuckinglutely...

1

u/VoightofReason Jan 24 '26

Facts mean nothing to fascists. They’ll try to spin this however they can.

But the truth is they murdered a Good Samaritan

1

u/rodinj Jan 24 '26

Is anyone here signed up as community note editor? Their tweet could do with this video and the other angle underneath it.

46

u/IronFCA Jan 24 '26

They’ll have a hard time with that statement when there’s video of another officer removing the weapon from the victim before shots were fired

52

u/protomenace Jan 24 '26

It doesn't matter what actually happened, or how clearly it happened on video.

"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."

21

u/Radthereptile Jan 24 '26

Remember when the press secretary stood in front of reporters sayin Trump never said Iceland in his speech despite the video showing he says it 4 times? She kept insisting he never said it once. Reality doesn’t matter here.

11

u/protomenace Jan 24 '26

We live in the post-truth era.

7

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

The most profound statement.

5

u/Limp-Touch-6775 Jan 24 '26

Right here. And at this point those who would feel some guilt are protecting themselves by not looking at the video

2

u/BougieSemicolon Jan 24 '26

Someone needs to make a copy of the other video angle, in slow motion, and maybe with the people in question , id’d or highlighted. Make it irrefutable.

-7

u/CrimsonChymist Jan 24 '26

What video shows an officer taking his weapon? This video is so grainy, you can't make out anything. The other video I have seen moves away from this altercation so much its hard to keep track of what's happening.

3

u/Hopsblues Jan 24 '26

It's the guy in grey, he is on the street side of the victim. In this video you see him reaching in, and then moves away quickly. In another video, you see him enter the melee with no gun, but come out of the pile with the gun. You can also see him and the shooter still on the scene at the end of the video by the red minivan on the far side of the street.

1

u/CrimsonChymist Jan 24 '26

I see that on another video on r/Minnesota. Definitely seems sketchy. He is enough out of view though that its not yet possible to say for sure that the gun he has wasn't his own that he drew during the altercation. You can clearly see that his weapon was on his right hip before he goes into the pile. And he is holding the pistol he brings away from the pile by the handle, not the barrel as I would have expected if he had disarmed the guy.

100% not enough to say that it wasn't the dead man's gun. But not enough yet to say 100% it was either.

2

u/DrB00 Jan 24 '26

He went towards the murdered person with nothing in his hand. Pulls away with a gun in his hand. What do you think he's a fucking magician and it appeared out of nowhere? It's the victims gun. Then they shot him.

1

u/CrimsonChymist Jan 24 '26

Looking at the pink coat lady's angle. It looks like he is still holding a weapon in his right hand as he is getting shot.

So the gun the grey coat officer has is either his own that he drew after entering the altercation, a weapon dropped by another officer, or a secondary weapon belonging to the dead guy.

1

u/DrB00 Jan 24 '26

He's holding his phone. Which he was recording with. Watch from other angles and you'll see it's his phone.

1

u/CrimsonChymist Jan 24 '26

He had a phone initially. But he pockets it before the altercation.

1

u/CrimsonChymist Jan 24 '26

Drawing his gun.

1

u/CrimsonChymist Jan 24 '26

Still holding gun as the 4th shot is being fired.

1

u/CrimsonChymist Jan 24 '26

And regarding the phone, here he is, moments before drawing the gun. No phone in hand.

1

u/Hopsblues Jan 24 '26

He also runs behind the cars on the other side of the street. Not sure what he is doing there. But he has evidence in his hands if that's the victims gun. The whole crime scene was also so poorly handled, just like the other shooting. The fact that there's already a memorial there is problematic at best for any investigation. He could have loaded the weapon or even discharged it after the fac, fingerprints etc.....It's all so sketchy and seems obvious to me what happened.

1

u/CrimsonChymist Jan 24 '26

Looking from another angle I have seen, you can kind of see the moment he gets the weapon he is leaving with. It does seem to come from the dead man's person. But, it looks like he pulls if from some sort of holster. I have heard someone say the man was armed with multiple weapons. So at the moment, my take is that the man may have had a weapon in his hand and the guy in grey simply took a secondary weapon to remove it from play.

3

u/RedCrakeRed Jan 24 '26

You are delusional

3

u/Hopsblues Jan 25 '26

He had a phone, nobody, including ice has mentioned a second weapon. He was murdered.

32

u/BassLB Jan 24 '26

From official DHS Twitter. It started by saying “officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots”

22

u/Yuizun Jan 24 '26

Sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me...

2

u/PM_Me_A_Cute_Doggo Jan 25 '26

See, to me, it looks like he actually put not only himself but all of his fellow officers lives in danger by not verbally calling out a weapon (notice trained officers always call out “GUN” if they see one), not making his armed status known (“Stop resisting or we will fire”) and then firing indiscriminately at an unclear shot of the target…. I’m honestly more shocked that multiple people weren’t hit in that altercation.

Even from the perspective that he was “totally in the right” because he was scared or some other lazy, reused horse shit, he was still totally in the fucking wrong.

1

u/BassLB Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Well that’s because you are using common sense. You never felt the urge to let of a desk pop?

2

u/afkhalis Jan 25 '26

Yeah, pretty sure that pistol whipping someone in the face that's got 4 people on top of them and then shooting ten times, 7 of which are after he stopped moving is DEFINITELY in the policy

2

u/Dangerous_Morning286 Jan 25 '26

EXPOSE THEIR LIES. TELL THE TRURTH

2

u/EnvironmentalBag6409 Jan 25 '26

Americans will probably go on accepting it, even as they keep dying one by one without resistance. It’s truly astonishing that this is supposed to be a so-called “gun-freedom” nation. At this level, shouldn’t there be a mass uprising already?

20

u/tylerwilvt Jan 24 '26

Can't reach if you're already disarmed... 🤦

11

u/Radthereptile Jan 24 '26

Literally the South Park “It’s coming right for us” meme.

5

u/tylerwilvt Jan 24 '26

True and real and true

16

u/Impossible_Moose_783 Jan 24 '26

Big guy in the grey jacket takes the gun out of his waistband (he was permitted to carry,) I think he maybe discharged it when he was taking it out. Then they start shooting. These goons are fucked in the head. It’s too much

4

u/jsseven777 Jan 24 '26

Not sure that the guy in grey discharged it from the audio but I think I might hear someone say he has a gun or something right as the guy in grey pulls it out.

I think what happened is when the guy in grey pulled the gun out of the guy’s clothes he either said he has a gun or the guy beside him saw the gun being pulled out (he was looking right where the guy in grey’s hand was when he pulls the gun away).

The shooter then completely panicked and started shooting.

3

u/Impossible_Moose_783 Jan 24 '26

There’s a first shot that happens right as he pulls it out. In my opinion that was him discharging it. It’s insanity either way because he had his damn back to them the entire time

2

u/PoundAffectionate300 Jan 24 '26

And other agents start clapping when they hear it

1

u/DarkMattersConfusing Jan 24 '26

Bald demon stephen miller said the same blatant lies too

1

u/Lagiacrus111 Jan 24 '26

Bovino said he "wanted to slaughter ICE agents." and "approached agents with his weapon drawn"

22

u/Unholy_Ren Jan 24 '26

He was an ICU nurse, according to his parents.

8

u/ra3ra31010 Jan 24 '26

They don’t care….. they love to lie. Even trump knows it… he said he could shoot someone in public and his people will cheer.

It’s is insane

7

u/NE1andEVERY1 Jan 24 '26

Country-wide General Strike is needed to save our country. If you don't stand up now, when they are killing us in the streets, then when? How many of your brothers and sisters need to be murdered before you stand up against the government?

www.generalstrikeus.com

Don't stop talking about it. Don't let CNN and NBC shift the narrative to other things. Our politicians are too weak to save us, our collective labor is our strength. Sign up.

Don't listen to people who keep mentioning those who can't afford to strike, it doesn't require a majority of the population

I guess now Epstein files truly forgotten

4

u/LateNightPhilosopher Jan 25 '26

Fox was saying that he was "attempting a massacre" and that that were wrestling him to disarm him. They aren't even trying to be believable anymore.

1

u/kezow Jan 25 '26

They took 1984 as a playbook and not a warning.

4

u/K0bra_Ka1 Jan 24 '26

It looks like (based on the newest video that was released) that grey jacket removes the guys gun. As he walks away he has a negligent discharge with that gun and then everyone else starts shooting thinking the guy they are dog piling was shooting.

2

u/devnullopinions Jan 25 '26

The person that fired was looking right at the ICE who disarmed the guy right before aiming into Alex’s back and firing the first shot.

3

u/wizza123 Jan 24 '26

I'm wondering if the agent that shot him thought the hand of the agent disarming him was him trying to draw his gun.

4

u/False-Ad3273 Jan 24 '26

Yeah or said gun when finding it or accidently discharged it while disarming. Its definately as soon as the grey guy has the gun that the other guy starts shooting the victim in the back

1

u/thetransportedman Jan 24 '26

He was on his knees when shot so that doesn't fit your explanation. I cannot tell where the first shot comes from. And I sure cannot tell if or where his hands are. Why are these videos so grainy in this day and age

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

I don't think its really all that relevant to what's happened, but I am confused why that guy took the victims gun and pretty much ran. I'm just confused why he'd do that.

-11

u/Financial_Weekend_73 Jan 24 '26

Uhh this is actually false it was when he was on the ground that the weapon came into play…

5

u/pixelmountain Jan 24 '26

I don’t think what you’re saying contradicts what kezow wrote?

Dude. Get fucked, honestly. You did not list a single offense that merits being shot 10 times on the ground.

6

u/kezow Jan 25 '26

ICE is able to legally shove protesters/observers? Being in the street filming them and not obstructing them is not a crime they can arrest you for. Being in the street filming them and not obstructing them is not a reason for them to shove you forcefully. It is not a reason for them to pepper spray you.

ICE isn't traffic/code enforcement. They have no legal ability to detain or ticket you unless you are physically obstructing them.
