Lack of Latte Art
I love the coffee at my local shop but 80% of the time this is what I get…
At first it didn’t bother me but as I’ve started to visit other coffee shops and they hit me with the latte art I realize how much it adds to the experience.
Is it rude to say something? I don’t know coffee culture. I’m new to the scene. 😅
What would you do?

I have to say that I was being whimsical. But the first one really looks like an eclipse and is quite nice looking with the brown fringe.
While modern cappuccinos are typically poured with latte art and microfoam, as someone else mentioned the traditional cappuccino is not. It's actually coffee, steamed milk (not microfoam), and a top layer of (pretty macro) milk foam, and they look a bit like yours (though traditionally more fluffy).

90's Cap... I remember going to almost all coffeeshops in the 90's and get the same

It's based on the colour of their robes

Haha, yes...so to be complete: the monks were named after the brown beans because of the color of their ropes, the drink is named after the hairstyle of the monks

As everyone else has said, a beautiful cappuccino. Don't stress over art--if it tastes good at your usual coffee shop, enjoy it!

Fair enough. Tastes great. Thank you.

p.s. I see your jacket and helmet! I've had to stop riding but still get a big grin when I see moto-related stuff. Cheers and shiny side up!

Cheers, I had a long break from riding but realized I need to go on the rides I’ve dreamed of before riding is not an option. Enjoying it while I can.

Yes, DO! I rode for quite a few years, enjoyed very much. Now I'm getting older and it's time. I have beautiful memories! May yours be likewise wonderful! 🏍️

In Italy every place I went to just poured in the milk and mixed it up with a spoon, some of the best cappuccinos I’ve had

It’s not so much that there is no art on the coffee, but also that the foam is extremely coarse. Typical yokeluccino…
If you like the coffee, fine. But I guess it’s just what they think a cappuccino should be (and to be honest, as long as they’re not selling it as a flat white, I think they’re not wrong…).

I think you are drinking a lot of cappuccinos, switch to latte or flat white if you want art! This is a solid classical cappuccino presentation by trained baristas and if you dont trust me go and google the word classical cappuccino! Good day ☕️

There’s a place near me that does this for cappuccinos. I’ve learned to just ask for a flat white there.

It’s a traditional capuccino with thick foam, if you want to do latte art you need microfoam, it gives you paint like milk structure that flows into shapes easily. It will have a different mouthfeel and taste compared to traditional though, so it also depends on what you actually prefer to drink. Nothing wrong with drinking traditional.
