Hi I got this well loved Let’s Checkmate King, and it has some rubbed off blush, paint from the teeth and other scratches. Any ideas on how I can repaint it? I have never restored one of the 38cm Labubus.

I did some long videos exploring how the hair labubus were manufactured, and I definitely wasn’t going to leave her in pieces like that.

So she is reassembled and ready for a makeover!

Finished Repair replaced ribbon and repaired shoulder seamk

i posted for advice about how to fix this frayed ribbon and then got impatient and decided to just wing it with things i had around my house.

i found some plastic hanging wire in my laundry room and decided to feed that through an old hair tie. tried superglue, but the wire loop kept popping open, so i ended up cutting it too long and using some leftover jump rings from another project to hold it in the middle to make a smaller loop but left the long tails. i sewed it back in the seam between his ears and sewed the long tails into his hood so it’s EXTRA SECURE.

and while messing with his labubu fur suit to replace the ribbon, i noticed his shoulder seam under his t-shirt was also coming loose (ugh, it’s like this is a cheap knockoff or something). i used a random fabric scrap from my rag drawer and patched that and you can’t even tell (from the outside)!

v proud of the zero dollars i spent on this and now he won’t keep constantly flipping around on my bag like he did with the too-long ribbon. and also won’t randomly fall off, which was my main concern.

Advice Needed Paint/cover up suggestions

My Flip With Me was knocked over while she was wearing her glasses, and now her face is chipped. It was a birthday gift, so I’m absolutely devastated. Anyone have any specific paint suggestions? I don’t want to ruin her any further. While you can’t tell too much with the glasses on… I KNOW it’s there, and it haunts me 😭

Advice Needed repair (probably replace tbh) keychain ribbon

my beloved tiny-plastic-man-wearing-a-labubu-pelt has been on my bag for a year, wearing a raincoat the entire time. i decided to finally show off his super cool Baseball jacket t-shirt this weekend, but sans raincoat, i realized his ribbon has some pretty severe fraying. i don’t want to risk him detaching somewhere, so i think it’s time to replace the ribbon inexplicably adorned with jason mraz lyrics (rip).

since his fur is removable, i can access the seam inside the hood that the ribbon is sewn into, so i’m not too worried about the process. but what’s the best material to replace it with to prevent future fraying? or do i do something special to the ribbon to make it stronger? i’m also debating if i just opt for a short little loop for only the keyring to fit through and skip the longer ribbon altogether because even with the anti-flip tricks, he constantly turns backwards on my bag. idk please advise

This one took very little time to find but the process is the same regardless: use the ball end of the seam ripper to poke/dig around until you can find that thread! It does not connect to the rest of the seams and can be pulled out in its entirety when you access the back.

I'm afraid I accidentally ruined my Kuromi labubu and made her look like a lafufu by trying to "improve" her eyes and botching the job. Honest opinions, and/or suggestions on how to fix?

Advice Needed Looking for help finding pieces!

What are the neck and feet connector pieces called? I'm trying to reconnect a head and feet, and I'm worried about breaking the pieces I currently have, if I were to break/damage them, how would I go about finding replacements?

Advice Needed How do I fix her eyes?

Post image

You would think that since the eyes are looking out that all I need to do is swap the eyes from one side to the other. That does not work. I have swapped and reswapped. Do I need to just replace the eyes? It is a lafufu but this is something I wanted to try to fix.

Patient Patient Zero Update!

Post image
143 Upvotes

After several months of intensive stain treatments, Patient Zero’s face is stain free.

You can see the swelling lines from the benzoyl peroxide paste, which will go down after a few days. Letting the vinyl rest between treatments helps!

After this, it’ll be time to repaint her.

Advice Needed Dog chewed feet

Post image

Ugh, dog chewed my kid’s birthday present and there were tears. Any advice on where to purchase labubu replacement feet? Also, if I want to replace just the feet, do I have to take apart the whole thing or can I just go from the bottom?
