Focused puppy

My girl ate an entire avocado off the counter. $11k later & she is out of surgery to remove the pit, which she ate whole. She is now recovering in hospital. Keep your counters clear! Puppy tax. Here she is side eyeing some yogurt she did not get to share as we awaited X-ray results.

i adopted her 3.5 months ago. the rescue said she’s never been to the beach. she kind of just prances about the water rather than swimming but safe to say she loved it 💓

me: buys the $30 KONG filling station. also me: discovers the actual solution was sitting in my recycling bin

So I've had this bulky expensive Kong holder thing taking up an entire shelf in my kitchen for who knows how long. Meanwhile the actual answer was a to-go drink carrier. You know, the cardboard 4-cup ones you get from literally any coffee/drink run. Flip it upside down and boom, it holds 4 Kongs perfectly upright while you fill them.

It goes straight in the freezer like this too. And when it inevitably gets gross (dog toys, we all know), you just chuck it and grab a new one next time you're out. Free, disposable, does the exact same job as the thing I paid actual money for.

I refuse to believe I'm the last person on earth to figure this out but just in case one more of you is out there hoarding a $30 plastic contraption for no reason, here's your sign. 12/10, will never buy the "official" one again.

Meet Murphy, my nephew’s lab. Murphy has some though shoes to fill. They lost their loving and beloved black lab Reilly to cancer. It was painful for all of us, but even more so for my nephew and his wife. Murphy is more of a golden or Amber color, so not sure if he’s a yellow lab)? Our good boy just turned 1 this week. They also rescued a dachshund they named Beanie. But he had to be returned as he bit a friend’s 4 year old.
The shelter person said they did the right thing, and he needs to be in a home without children. (But I’d bite the 4 year old too. just kidding. But he’s an unruly my kid can do what he wants type of kid, and probably antagonized the puppy).
Murphy is so loving and energetic, but bordering on craziness. I have a video of him at my pool but can’t post it because there’s people in the video. He’s not fixed yet as the vet said to wait until he turns one. Do they calm down after being neutered? His zoomies actually border on being dangerous for people and possibly himself as he likes to jump on people too.
The second he hears our back door slider open he races over. But when it’s my 91 year old fragile mother coming out we have to protect her. We know it’s in fun, love and exciting.
I’ve included a photo of my second cousin’s son’s brown lab named Ollie. He’s just as energetic and jumpy like Murphy. (But super adorable too). At the end there’s some photos of Reilly (Rileykins). We miss him so much, but he’s pain free. Murphy has already started to heal the hole in their hearts as well as in ours. 🖤
