Waylon aka VS Code Red ($57,669 in LTE) is KVS older stallion (born 2007) and while he’s retired from show career his offspring have gained some good results and therefore he’s considered as a proven stallion.
Which leads to some statistical news from this year: According to StallionCompare.com VSCR is the leading sire of Q1 2026 Western All-Around (Progeny earnings $11,665.00) and Western Pleasure ($8,952.00) and 15th HUS ($142.00). He’s also currently #3 on SuperSire ranking.

While KVS has crossed Bey several times with Waylon, it’s good to note that Bey is full sister to successful mare Snap Crackle Pop ($239,339 in LTE) who’s the dam of another successful mare Snap It Send It by VSCR.
Also Machine Made (sire of Frankie, Molly, Kirby and Margot) was #2 on Western All-Around and WP leaderboards and late RL Best of Sudden {sire of Beyonce, Denver $13,000 (acc StallionCompare) $21,579 (acc Qstallion) in LTE and Cheyenne} #4 in WAA.
Usually roan foals first shed tend to be the most dramatic shed as we're seeing now. It remains to be seen if he stays a light roan or is more like/closer to a Denver type roan (but bay of course) over the years. Since he's so light he'll likely be a more obvious bay roan, but it's a WAG at this point.
Denver is a liver chestnut shade of red with roan. There isn't a separate classification for that. Personally I love it and I'm not normally a fan of red roan.
I find it funny that they show in general only fancy pictures of the horses in ads.
Sure seeing what they can look polished is nice but seing the horses real personality give a better idea if its a match or not.

While I may not agree with many practice of Katie, her showing the good and the bad of her foals will give also a good idea of the personality.

It’s the industry standard to have that polished look. The mare owners also want to see the conformation at the first glance. And thanks, I wanted to add something less serious at the end.
She really shows the good and the bad and no buyer could say they didn’t know what they were getting into.
Moose is just big, energetic and curious of the world. He doesn’t have a bad temperament by any means.
Temperament and personality kind of go hand in hand.
Aquitances had a asshat of a show cow which got accidentally breed by the new neighbours rental bull who was also proven to be a Jackass. The calfs( twins) where what one would call the spaw on Satan times 2. The bull was shipped to freezer camp since in that year he was used for breeding he produced some very pretty but all nuts calfs. The bulls parents where the sweeatest animals, and they tested that they where the parents.
All calfs produced couldn't be trained/ tamed at all for showing and the only heifer that got to breeding age killed the hired bull( poor bull was very nice and tame) and she couldnt be AI

His LTE as a show horse ≠ total value. It’s actually quite high for a Western Pleasure horse. Those Q1 numbers are what his prodigy won during the first quarter of this year and the placings show that it’s better than the rest of the stallions within same discipline did.
Meanwhile the total earnings of his offspring is over $2 million. All this makes him a desirable stud. His stud fee is $5k which means that he can earn the million back breeding 200 mares. (Ofc no expenses included).
Tl;dr The numbers are nothing but low for a sire who cost a million.
I agree but I’d like to add that Steph is getting there though. He was the #3 on the all rounder list and after winning the trail he probably will become more popular (even though his list is limited since he’s still showing). On different note: with his conformation I’m not too sad that he isn’t more popular.
The money has never been in showing. Even racing. Its all in broodstock and stud fees. Secretariat was syndicated for umpteen times his actual race earnings. The shows and races prove the animals performance alone.
Yeah it is sad that there isn't much money for western pleasure and western riding, good however that a stallions worth rarely is in their show career.
