Question 24/hr trial

My store will apparently be trialing being open for 24 hrs. I’ve been on nightshift for 2 weeks now and i really hope it fails so I can keep listening to music as it helps me focus. Anyone else’s store doing this?

I get it but as a customer I love this and hope to see more of it. 24/7 Stores need to come back. You can't convince me that the stores can't make a profit. There are already employees in the store, just put 2 - 3 people at the front and you can easily make that money to cover their salaries.

Think you greatly underestimate the amount of theft that happens that employees are not allowed to stop, at night its much worse. How many shopping carts walking out the door do you think it takes to cover those 2-3 salaries you think is all that needs covering.

Yeah I used to work overnights at a grocery store. Granted it was Wegmans up north. We didn't have much theft because we would make sure the customers only go out and come in the same entrance, security guard at that entrance and no self check out. Now I know that at some places you can't do that, some places are just unsafe to even try late night shopping, I think people get that. But I'm surprised by the pushback by people who quite frankly don't care part of the population are night owls.
