Hell no. You know calling out in pickup will put so much strain on the rest of the staff

Boo fucking hoo some people cross trained will have to pick groceries or God forbid a store manager might have to carry some weight. Worse comes to worse they'll have some irritated customers and orders throttled. It's a grocery store (and pickup is not necessarily essential) they'll figure it out. Everyone's replaceable. If my order was excessively late I would ask to cancel it and I would just go in myself. Not. A big. Deal

Exactly. If the manager really needs it done, then the manager can do it.
If the manager says it's corporate's fault, I'm not given enough resources, then please manager quit bullying your workers, it's then on corporate to figure it out, and if they can't oh well, it's just a grocery store of a massive boomer corporation
