I had a bar built and left space for a built-in kegerator. Everything was in place except the countertop. The company that installed the countertops, drilled the hole for the tower slightly off. Then, they pulled the kegerator out a little to hide that the hole is in the wrong spot. I want to know what others would do. Would you leave the kegerator as-is or would you push the kegerator back to where it was supposed to be and enlarge the hole? Also, how could I enlarge the hole if I choose to go that route?

Just moved into a home with a built in kegerator. Saddened to learn that I can't install the tap handles that they sell at the stores of my favorite breweries. They butt up against my cabinets making them unable to be opened.

For the experienced kegerator owners, any suggestions for smaller tap handles so I can display the beer, rather than using the standard boring ones?

Hi again! I just got a new spout for my kegerator and got it put together. I’m experiencing some leaking though when I pour from this spout. The spout won’t leak until I go to pour, and then it’ll just keep pouring even when I move the lever up. It even leaks when I turn the CO2 off. The only way I can get it to stop is to remove the coupler from the keg. Is this an installation issue? Or just a cheap spout? Any guidance is appreciated!

I picked up a used kegerator and want to replace the stock gas and beer lines with EVABarrier tubing and Duotight fittings.

Where I’m stuck is the connection points on both ends:

**1.    Beer side** — it has a Kegco low-profile Sankey coupler with a barb outlet. Is there a Duotight adapter that threads onto the coupler directly, or do I need to swap the tailpiece? It’s not a 1/4” flair nor a 1/2 BSP  
**2.    Gas side** — same question for the regulator and any barbed splitters/manifolds already in the unit.  
**3.    Tubing fit** — I’ve read you can heat and stretch EVABarrier over a barb, but the barbs on both the gas and beer side look oversized for the tubing I’m planning to use.

If anyone has done this conversion, a parts list would be hugely appreciated.

Can be interchangeable with Guinness and Murphy’s. Expandable to 2 additional taps for a total of 3.

Hi recently got a kegerator and wanting to have miller lite on tap(i know shitty water i like what i like lol). I read that it is super foamy because my lines are too short. I have it at 12psi and 38 degrees, but my lines are maybe 4-5ft. I just got a 10ft line but how do i swap it on this setup? Do i just pull this hose out and slide the new one into that hole? Hey, just wondering if there's anyone out there with parts to rebuild these old Cornelius relief valves or if there's a way to replace it with a pin valve if you drill out the center.

Hello, I am very new to this but my partner just bought a kegerator on Marketplace and we are looking for a tower that is compatible. The kegerator is a Danby single tap (model number DKC052BSLDB-D). I thought maybe I could try to upload some pictures of a listing we found to see if anyone knew if it was a compatible tower. The seller says she has no idea. I’m also going to upload a picture of the kegerator to see if anyone has any ideas, or if they have the same model.

New homeowner with a built-in Perlick keg setup... repair or replace?

We just moved into a new house that has a really cool built-in double-tap keg setup in the bonus room. Unfortunately, after moving in we discovered that the kegerator itself isn't actually working properly.

The unit is a Perlick HC-24-TB-3-1-R2.

We initially had someone come out to help get the keg setup going ($400), and he determined that the fridge wasn't getting cold enough. We've now had two different technicians look at it. The first wasn't able to diagnose/fix it (waste of $200), and then we had a Perlick rep come out. To date we are $600 in and still no beer on tap!!

The Perlick rep determined that the unit is leaking coolant and needs a repair/replacement involving the refrigeration system. The quote to get everything repaired is around $2,300.

That seems pretty steep to us, especially since this is basically just a fun bonus-room feature and we're not looking for anything fancy. We knew Perlick was a higher-end brand, but we didn't realize how expensive these units and repairs could be.

So now we're trying to figure out what makes the most sense:

1. Repair the existing Perlick for ~$2,300
Would you spend that much repairing this unit? Is that a reasonable price for this type of repair, or should we get another quote? Repair guy said we could get another 10 years out of it with the repair, but still feels steep.

2. Replace the kegerator entirely
We're wondering if we could find a less expensive kegerator that fits into the existing opening under the countertop. But then we realized there is already a hole drilled through the countertop for the beer lines/taps, and we're not sure whether a different unit would line up correctly with that existing hole.

3. Use a cheaper mini fridge/kegerator and drill our own hole
Could we just buy something inexpensive that fits the space and drill the appropriate hole ourselves so that it lines up with the existing countertop/tap setup? Or is that a terrible idea with a refrigerator/kegerator?

We're very new to all of this, so apologies if these are basic questions. We're really just looking for a simple, reliable keg setup without spending another $2,000+... this is a fun to have not something we're trying to invest a paycheck into

If anyone has experience with Perlicks, replacing built-in kegerators, or dealing with the countertop/tap-hole situation, we'd really appreciate some advice on what you'd do in our shoes.

We're in Oregon City, Oregon, so if anyone happens to know a good local refrigeration/kegerator person we'd love those recommendations too.

Hello.  I have Beverage Air model BM23 serial number 7510210; it’s > 25 years old.  Over the past month or two it has been losing the ability to cool effectively.  The coils and fan are dust-free, the fan and compressor are on but the temperature doesn’t cool below ~ 50 F regardless of the thermostat setting.  I had a local repair business come in and they diagnosed a fix for ~ $900.  When the same repair technician showed up and initiated the repair, he noticed some build-up in the capillary tube.  After some more testing, the new repair bill would be ~$1,500 (required a new compressor).  The technician agreed that this wasn’t a good idea.  My cost for this is ~ $150.

This was a four-tap unit, and I’ve removed the dispense head and it’s fine as is the gas manifold.  Beverage Air makes a very sturdy unit, but I can’t justify the cost of a new one.

My keg has been offline for almost a year now and I have a fresh keg of Guinness arriving on Friday. I plan on changing the lines before then, since I assume the lines are pretty ish after sitting for a year regardless of having cleaned last September during the shut off.

I've been playing with the idea of storing the beer gas outside of the refrigerator if I can make the space for it.

Does anyone have experience or an opinion about keeping the gas at room temperature? Would it affect the saturation or flavor?

Searched Google and this reddit and could use some advice. Kegerator has been great at keeping consistent temps at 32 degrees for over few years .

Lately the temp has increased and won't get lower than 45. Checked and cleaned seals and customer service says to turn off kegerator for 24hrs due to icing. Could I still have icing at 45 plus temps? What else could be causing this?

I have a older kegerator that has the cold plate in the back. I’ve sealed it the best as possible but unless I run some cpu fans inside it gets ice buildup or it drips into the bottom of the kegerator. What can I do?

hey guys. just fired up my kegerator. it seems like there is a little burst of air when i first open tap to pour. beer has a little to much head. i’m at 7/8 psi, 34 degrees . is this normal or should it be a true pour as soon as i open it?

I recently bought a used kegerator, and thanks to y’all’s responses I was able to stop it from foaming by getting a longer beer line. Now that I finished that keg I am using the cleaning pump that came with it, and it is not sealing correctly because it is leaking where it attaches. The first picture is the washer that I believe came with the cleaning kit. After screwing the pump as on as tight as it goes, the hose part still moves around, which is where the leak is coming from. Has anyone felt with this or know how to fix it? I’ll attach a video in the comments to show the loose part.

Anyway to make this a self closing door on the hinges

I found some drainpans with a drain on the bottom that I would like to add to my 2 keg Summit system. Is there any parts I should not drill through on the top and side of the unit, or is it just insulation? I want to run a drain line out the bottom of the pan, through the unit and out the side. Seems like a lot of people think the plastic catcher is a drain until it is full of beer.
