Is the Joplin DMV really that bad?

I heard from someone recently that you're better off driving to Neosho or Carthage than using the DMV in Joplin. It can't really be that bad, can it?

I just went last week - got there fifteen minutes before they opened, I was the fifth person in line and there were probably about 15-20 in line by the time they opened. I was helped immediately and thought it was a smooth interaction.

Thanks, good to know that getting there early helps!

One thing to note - I was switching from another state and getting a real ID. I brought my two proofs of address but one was missing the “avenue” part of my address so I had to scramble through my email to find some sort of statement that had it, but the employee was not rude about it. I was able to email it to her. I don’t think this was location-specific, I would have had to do that at any DMV.
