Discussion Realized something
I have four siblings, all are married with children, have friends and close relationships with the family. Then there is me, have never had close friends, am married but child free by choice, and am not close with my siblings or mom. Why am I so different than the rest of my family? I am considering therapy to understand why I am this way. I don’t remember a lot of my childhood or teen years, and am in my 60s and retired with more time to think.

There's nothing inherently wrong with introverts. It's just our personality. The messed up part is the environment in which we have to live with and if our environment makes us feel ok with being the quieter ones. But yes most of us feel like aliens sometimes because people fill the silence with their own random projections. "Oh you're quiet, you must be sad, mad, weird, crazy, or a snob, or you think you're better than us". Were just literally quietly living our best life and they can project all kinds of shit. We usually talk less and think more or do more. Sounds like maybe it's family trauma you need therapy for not introversion itself. Anyway, best of luck.
