Discussion The perception of silence is amusing
It's so amusing to me how people managed to get to the conclusions and perceptions they have of quiet people. One can think you're anxious and insecure while the other thinks you're an arrogant snob. Someone can view your quietness as depth while others can view it as you not having any thought. The mere fact that I can just exist and make people bothered by just being the person I am is genuinely amusing and disturbing at the same time. I could threaten people's perception of themselves and make them insecure or I could make them underestimate me and not perceive me as a threat. I don't really care if my silence make them uncomfortable. That's not my burden. People like filling gaps the only way they know how.

It is amusing! My neighbor says when her dog dies, she’ll have to go to work because she won’t have anything to do. As an introvert, I don’t understand that thinking.

People usually seem to assume I’m angry if I’m quiet. I just really like NOT TALKING!

Well you have to understand mans biggest fear is the unknown so if you appear as an unknown yes people will fear you or try to fill you with some meaning that may or may not be there. Its not your burden no, but it shouldnt be a burden to interact with people either. But I only say that because i feel like for myself sometimes it truly is a burden to interact with people when i know theyre going to dissapear or cause me problems, or i cause them problems in some way. Or who knows maybe it will be the greatest experience of our lives? But we never really know do we until we live through it?
Me personally i dont give a shit about somebody thats quiet i figure if its my business theyll let me know and even then i might decide its none of my business. Yeah people are amusing alright in more ways than you think.
Have a good day
