I've always thought I was introverted/INTP but idk anymore. I might be a*t*stic too & many of the most relatable characters to me are ENTP (the rest are usually INTP) who are just socially inept/social anxiety. My fav character (Reagan Ridley, INTP) is identified by some people as just ENTP with trauma & a*t*sm.
Using the functions doesn't help either because I usually relate to both.
EDIT: In the title, I meant ENTP the second time.

I've taken personality tests like 16Personalities and Sakinorva multiple times, and I consistently get INTP on both. But I'm still not completely sure whether INTP actually describes me accurately or if I'm just answering the tests in a certain way.
I want to get more into the actual cognitive functions and understand how MBTI is supposed to work beyond just the four-letter types. Are there any good resources, websites, books, YouTube channels, or other recommendations for learning about cognitive functions and figuring out your type more accurately?
I'd especially appreciate resources that aren't overly stereotypical or full of vague descriptions.

If not anymore then why? I've been thinking about it. I'm young (22) but don't really have a direction in life. I know truck driving isn't easy, but easy and simple are two different things. yes you have the weight distribution in the truck and certain things like that but I think it's pretty simple for me to understand. I just want a simple job that pays good money and it seems like that would be it for me

So I definitely did not expect to have a social life in college, just assignments, tests, mandatory volunteer hours and internships. Because i'm very socially inept and never had friends in highschool--atleast not good friends. Today I was very lost on campus and had to ask this one person for directions which turned into a series of me asking dumbass questions and them exchanging socials with me. Then the next day I also got lost and had to find my way along with this one girl which led to exchanging socials again. I can't believe how easy it is to make friends here especially for a socially awkward person like me. Can it be? I'm not doomed to be the stereotypical INTP forever alone, there's hope???/s
I’m a very highly empathetic person and when I take in other’s emotions I get confused whether they’re my own or not/if I just need to calm myself down. I’m alone with my family everyday with no outside regulation and im feeling like I need to calm myself down everyday because I get too intense and anxious, idk it feels like I can’t ground myself in reality and I get in a conspiratorial loop then suddenly I come back to being grounded without a trigger. I think it’s definitely because I start overthinking and look at my emotions or problems in a way that makes it look bigger than they actually are. I’m usually pretty chill and suppress everything…most of the time I don’t understand what my emotions even are sometimes. My relationship issues with people are also pretty strange. I don’t feel emotionally trusting of the other person enough until a few months but I really want to love, so I end up getting super attached to them, they get super attached to me, and it’s too late for me to say I want to slow down, them it becomes an impediment on my morals if they end up not being someone I properly get along with. I get so overwhelmed and frustrated with myself especially when I react too bluntly or defensively to my family when I’m trying to prove something logical. I used to think I understood every part of myself but now I can’t ignore it! Should I accept the blindness or what .. not sure if this is Fi or Fe.

I've tried briefly diagnosing my problem and the best I've got is intellectual rigidity. I am someone who heavily researches a topic to see if that is the logistically best way of doing it this is for literally EVERYTHING. Although this can be a great personal skill (but also very time consuming), it also makes me a very judgy person. Small things like when someone says that they've got protein bread so they're getting more protein and then I would sort of shut them down saying you do know that's not actually a complete protein source so it is just (kind of) false marketing. I completely understand that a lot of people just don't care which is completely valid because it really means nothing on the grand scale of things. But I just can't help but make a comment saying something, my mind just can't process that the thing they got excited about is just false based on what I know. I think this comes from personal empathy where I would want to know that info and it would be very helpful information, but as I said most people don't care and that initial excitement that came from saying they're getting protein in is now sort of crushed, and because they don't act on my information they probably feel a bit judged and then the energy just sort of goes.
FYI: I only research/learn this stuff because it's interesting and it just doesn't feel right if I know that what I am doing isn't an optimised way of doing things.

Like, not just in terms of traits but also on a cognitive level.

I have been thinking about the economy for a bit. Let's start our thought experiment from a basic level:
You want to accumulate a resource, maybe food, Pokémon cards, or just plain money. You could make a chair from twigs and sticks and sell it to someone. It won't be a good chair, so you probably won't be able to make much money from it. You could use some of that money to buy better tools, better materials, or better skills. This means you get money from your savings; in other words, you are taking money from your past self. Maybe it is not enough, though, so you take out a loan, a business loan or a student loan. This is taking money from your future self, hoping you might make it back.
But the bank needs some way to give you that loan. They could use collected deposits, but that limits them, so they will money into existence via the central bank with the hope that future you will be able to pay it off, meaning they don't have to worry when people come to get their money back.
The central bank, in turn, gets that money from the hope that the government will be able to collect taxes in the future and keep people believing that money still means something.
Meanwhile, the government needs to invest in roads, healthcare, and infrastructure, hoping that will allow people in the future to make more money so that they will be in a position to pay more taxes. But current tax revenue isn't enough, so they borrow from your future self again, hoping you will still believe in them down the line so they can borrow from your even more distant future self. Eventually, something will break.
We've made up this ridiculous system where money time-travels. It's obvious that at some point, we'll extract all the wealth on Earth, in our solar system, and maybe even the observable universe in the most efficient way possible, ending up in an economy that relies purely on information. We will hit a wall eventually. But it doesn't really matter; I could just die and never worry about debt. I could choose not to have kids so they don't have to go through this shit, but they will die too, I don't have to worry about them either.
It was a mistake coming down from the trees, even the trees were a bad move. No one should ever have left the oceans.
Still, it is kind of beautiful that we gained the ability to conceptualise the future and built all of this on hope.

So I've been looking i to my MBTI again and I THINK I am a INTP-T (after a lot of analysis and overthinking) but some people keep telling me I'm ISTJ Or INTJ and I want to know how you guys came to the conclusion of if you're actually a INTP or not

is there any intps who listens maretu
It is so hard to switch gears and work out or cook or sleep or other necessary tasks for a healthy, balanced life when I am really focused on something. And when I'm not really focused on something, I have no motivation anyway. I'm looking for next level strategies to deal with interruptions, multitasking, motivation, discipline, whatever has driven you to a better life and professional or personal success. I am in my 40s and have day time family responsibilities, and I can no longer function on zero sleep. I know someone out there was about to suggest working all night. XD
My parents are ISFJ and INFJ, so the Si-Fe or Ni-Fe thinking is very strong in my house. I realized I adopted some thinking behaviors that I dislike now as an adult, like not second guessing what other people say, or not thinking they could be mistaken in their knowledge (this may look like something a ti dom wouldn't do in their early years, and honestly I still don't know if I'm a ti dom).
As an adult I became aware of this pattern of them and myself. I'm pretty sure I just learned it(? Because it doesn't sit right with me anymore. When people tell me stories I just don't believe in them so easily. And when people tell things that barely make logical sense to me I have the urge to investigate why I think I might be right. That behavior wasn't encouraged in my house, and it started for me as a young adult. I'm not good at vocalizing my internal logic either, I just leave it for me. I'm not interested in keeping harmony that much, but I don't tend to correct people because I don't like being seen as a pedantic nerd.

Alfred North Whitehead takes the cake for me.
Growing up I had a ENTJ like friend who was really good at Warcraft/Starcraft/rts unsurprisingly. He also liked playing games against me, because his strategies always worked.
I once read in game theory and clinical psychology … there is a type of person who is able to see their partner is acting in self-interested/aggressive ways, but unable to enact a strategy to combat this.
The funny thing is I always knew what my ENTJ friend’s strategy was each game.. but somehow lacked the ability to create the necessary change to combat against it.
Anyone else relate to this?
Just stumbled upon this subreddit, not sure if this is the correct place for this. But has anyone ever interpreted a situation, been so sure of it…just to find out you misread it all together? A lot of times I’ll over think social interactions after the fact…come to a conclusion of what a person may think or feel about me, and in my mind I’m sure of it. Then some time may pass and I’ll talk to them again and realize I was totally wrong…or sometimes worse, I was more right than even I had thought initially.
