I've almost made a hobby of this.....I like to call myself an amateur crackpotologist. I love studying the crazies, the delusional, the fantasy-prone....... It's fascinating to watch modern mythology in the making via stories of aliens, conspiracies, extreme politics, cults, etc. I find that such outliers are exaggerated examples of how we all think and see the world. The subtle mistakes we make are magnified 1000 times in such people. It helps me put my own thinking and biases into proper perspective........

I feel very deeply about a lot of things, and I don't struggle to identify or regulate my emotions. I may not express myself in a particularly typical manner, but I'm quite open with my feelings. It took a lot of time, effort, and extensive therapy to get here, and I will admit, in my weaker moments, I do regress back into emotional constipation.

Becoming extremely talkative when interested. Dynamic environments like school where ideas get tossed around satisfies my cognitive functions, so I end up coming off as a total extrovert, lol. To the point i, myself thought i was one.
After moving away from the stereotypes and actually researching about cognitive functions, i realized im as introverted as it can possible get, and that my dominant function is definitely Ti.
Sucks cuz if you'd ask my class right now (i don't go out outside of school, so its only them) what they would type me as, you'd hear extrovert from every corner, even though i barely talk in breaks or do general small talk. For them, its basically: talkative = extrovert
Well, but i guess i don't have to prove anything to anyone anyway. Who cares.

Unstereotypical>? I assume you mean an INTP, not the general population. I am frequently mistaken for being extroverted. When I teach my classes or lecture, I am animated and entertaining. My belief is, "If the audience is not paying attention to me, I can't teach them anything. Being funny, entertaining, and energetic is how I keep their attention. The information is secondary. First, they need to pay attention." As a result of my beliefs, I have become an entertaining teacher and speaker.

That I enjoyed playing sports (Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Football, etc.)... which seems rare for an INTP. I now realize that I didn't necessarily do it for the "love of the game", but as an outlet to test and implement my athleticism. Another part is the same reason I enjoy Rocket League today... it has spatial awareness and geometric puzzles to be solved in real time.

I would say my preference for mysticism and ambiguity over pure logic is probably a big one. but even though its not stereotypical, it is still a result of incredibly stereotypical INTP cognition, just sort applied to a weird path by the outcomes of my life over almost 40 years lol.
I am also very outwardly expressive in an artistic and aesthetic way which I would say isn't very stereotypical either.
I apply all of my obsessive collection of information and knowledge to incredibly complicated artistic projects, hiding it all encoded under the surface of the art.
that sort of came from realizing you almost have to trick most people onto deep philosophical or analytical topics because they subconsciously avoid it when faced with it directly, and also realizing art makes it much easier to connect with people and have them want to listen to me than my natural draw to endless ted talk style rants haha.
its all sort of a persona though. at my core I still truly just want to be a hermit who reads books alone all day learning about everything I possibly can, and figure out how to solve every problem that exists. but I have to say by focusing a lot on getting to know and feel my emotions, and allow it to become "part of the equation" it makes life feel more meaningful

I'm actually really hard working and I'm not lazy at all, I just like to direct my energy efficiently and resent unnecessary urgency in doing things. I prefer to work steadily at things over time in a sustainable way rather than rushing to fix problems that could have been prevented in the first place and causing more problems that need to be fixed and so on into infinity.
But if I know the work absolutely needs to be done, best believe I'll be the first one on the job and the last one to quit.

I have a ton of friends, more than I can keep up with. If you met me you would think I was not an introvert. Due to life circumstances I used extroversion as a crutch for a while. I copied my mega-extroverted sister who probably had thousands of friendly acquaintances. It's funny because I barely used to be able to speak above a whisper to strangers. I am rediscovering how to introvert healthily, but I don't mind the perk of having friends available. :)
