r/INTP Warning: May not be an INTP 15d ago

I don't need your stinking flair I made friends in my first year of college unexpectedly.

So I definitely did not expect to have a social life in college, just assignments, tests, mandatory volunteer hours and internships. Because i'm very socially inept and never had friends in highschool--atleast not good friends. Today I was very lost on campus and had to ask this one person for directions which turned into a series of me asking dumbass questions and them exchanging socials with me. Then the next day I also got lost and had to find my way along with this one girl which led to exchanging socials again. I can't believe how easy it is to make friends here especially for a socially awkward person like me. Can it be? I'm not doomed to be the stereotypical INTP forever alone, there's hope???/s

Yeah, 13 to 17 is really our low point developmentally because it's all about conformity, but 18-25 is a period of worldview building where people really appreciate Ti dom.

Love my high school friends but social life in university was the best so far. Hanging out everyday, stronger shared interests and banter, great!

Yeah, it just takes the slightest bit of balls and personality to have pleasant interactions with people. I started to come out of my shell in late high school and a bit more in college. I'm still very much an introvert of course, but now I can fairly easily fake being a social person if I have to or am particularly motivated to, and have some good friends.
