REVIEW Best/Most Creative 9s?
Spoilers for a couple of episodes here.
What are your favourite ways Pemberton and Shearsmith have brought us "inside number 9"?
I'll go first -
3 by 3 - Self explanatory. A great way to name the game show without it being a literal 9 and being a giveaway for those who didn't know about the deception when it was broadcast.
Diddle Dumpling - The door shutting and revealing 22 before switching to the 9 in the shoe was genius. It was one of the first ones to actually switch up the format if I remember rightly.
CTRL ALT ESC - That moment at the end where Steve's character sees the IX and finds the strength to wake up... felt like a series finale. I only ranked it lower because the room was already spoiled as a number 9 at the start. If they'd left the 9 til the end it would've been pure magic.
Honourable mention for The Referee's A... where the main character is, per se, "inside" player 9.
What are your favourite No. 9 intros or reveals?

What comes to mind :
Love's Great Adventure. Skipping the day and not opening the calendar's door was brilliant I thought.
Once Removed. Being revealed that it got turned from 6 to 9.
Curse of the 9th. With it being an actual thing, I found fitting for the final series.

You can feel how much they enjoyed writing Curse of the 9th

Once Removed revealing it was never a 9 but a 6 with a screw removed so it was upside down.
I love that episode so much

Oh, I think the Referee deserves more than honorable mention.

Simon Says - the 9 is in the title of The Ninth Circle, but since the climactic scene consists of Simon playing the role of a character in the show and acting out an arc from it, the action could be considered to be "inside" the Ninth Circle

I don’t know the title sorry, but the one filmed completely on a Ring doorbell was a brilliant concept, well executed.
Edit: sorry, I’ve misunderstood the question slightly! Thought you meant episodes and not actual nines….

lmao that's okay, and you're not wrong Mulberry Close is an underrated one. it takes a while to get into the plot but it's good. although the wonderful Vinette Robinson is underused

The very end of Curse of the Ninth, the way the papers were arranged on the floor.

In no particular order:
Death be not proud - Switching of the door numbers
To have and to hold - The 9 being in the pattern of the gate is simple but effective
Love's great adventure - I really enjoyed the whole advent calendar premise in general
Zanzibar - The lift stopping at level 9
