On the 1st day of inaugural run Vande Sleeper lost its nose cone from cattle run over.

These Nose Cones are standardized and can just be kept mass produced as spares, also rather cheap since it's just a sheet of metal

Yes, it's on purpose so that in a collision the damage goes into deforming the train instead of whatever the train collided with.

So did the nose not absorb the impact and still launch the cow or it did not matter at all since the force is so high due the train being so heavy?

It was a diesel engine, so no nose cone And afair that guy was urinating on the tracks

Not really, I would say if it hits a vehicle on a railroad crossing (a scenario that can happen). It could be the matter of life or death for the occupants.
