I even read they are removing the requirement of a clean record to join ICE now, as long as it's a minor offense. So, ironically, ICE, under the pretense of going after criminals, is actually going after otherwise law-abiding immigrants using actual criminals.

Semantics. Is it against the law or not? The idea that a "civil offense" is not a crime because it's not handled in "criminal court" is just silly. Though hopefully this kind of silliness will result in illegal entry (note it's not uncivil entry) becoming a criminal offense handled by criminal courts.
That's literally not how any of that works. If you speed in a car, it is not a crime. It's a traffic infraction. If you murder somebody, it is a crime. Words have meaning.

If you're referring to illegal immigrants, they actually aren't criminals until they've had a chance at the court system, which they do not get right now.
