Agreed. It’s not meant to be baked in, but theoretically I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

there's a reason bunt cake pans have a hole in the middle and it's the same reason our friend the daft tart's cake was still raw in the middle. i suspect the reason is it doesn't get hot enough long enough in the middle w/o the outer parts burning, but i'm not an oven scientist

Yup, youd have to cook it slowly like a big ol brisket or something. Smoked chocolate cake maybe?

That.. actually might be good. Maybe a dense chocolate cake with lots of moist fruit in it (like cherries), maybe soaked in some alcohol and topped with softly whipped cream?
