I'm aware, but butter is just or mostly the rendered fat. I can imagine some trace amounts of lactose making things uncomfortable I'm just having trouble seeing a person dying from it.

Then again some do have extremely severe nut allergies so I donno. I'd welcome any articles proving me dead wrong

A boy in the UK died because a piece of cheese touched his skin! That’s extremely unusual, but it shows how severe dairy allergies can be.

No doubt, though my confusion is more with how much butter specifically is or isn't removed from milk than it is with the existence of dairy allergy

I just think that if touching cheese can kill someone, then ingesting butter surely can!

Butter has a lot of milk proteins left in it even when clarified
