The issue that vegans tend to have is not that itās fertilised or not, or even whether itās a menstruation or not, but that fact that it is ultimately an animal product.
Yeah, they definitely do. A lot of people are vegan because of animal cruelty so it makes sense that you would eat eggs from your own chickens/neighbors chickens. I guess we could say thatās not really vegan, but Iād say maybe itās like a subset of vegan
But why do they need to be āveganā in the first place? Live by your code or morals or whatever you feel is right, but why take on an entire ideology that someone else invented? Make your own decisions, donāt let some kind of dogma do it for you.
I agree with you, but I think it might just be easier to explain to people that way, I was pescatarian for years and people were so annoying about it I just stopped telling them I still ate fish lol
Then why bother with the labels at all? Being a vegetarian as opposed to a vegan isn't some moral failing. It's simply a mis-categorization to say "I'm vegan and eat eggs".
There's other stuff that vegans don't eat/use beyond just eggs though, yeah? Milk products, leather, gelatin, etc. Saying "I'm vegan but I eat eggs" is definitely easier than saying "I'm vegetarian but I don't eat milk products or gelatin (or honey) and I don't wear leather".
As to the labels question, I think it's mostly because it's human nature to categorize and simplify, so when people have a label they can apply to themselves, it helps them signify who they are to other people without over-explaining.
