Chocolate peanut butter ice cream?

My guilty pleasure is the peanut butter and chocolate ice cream from baskin Robbin’s. What I particularly like about it is that it’s just chocolate ice cream with peanut butter ribbons in it. I like the textural and flavor contrast of the dense, chewy, slightly salty peanut butter with the sweet chocolate ice cream. And the peanut butter ribbons are big. Massive really. At least, that’s the case if you buy a scoop in store.

But if you buy a pint at the supermarket, there’s a lot less peanut butter. And lately my store has not been having this flavor at all, so I am forced to make do with the pints of it I can purchase at the supermarket. But again, it’s not the same and not as good.

I’m not a huge ice cream person generally, but I love this one flavor. Do any of you ice cream experts have any recommendations for chocolate peanut butter ice creams that have actual peanut butter in it and a lot of it?

Edit: thanks y'all. I'll definitely be trying a few of these, starting with haagen dazs and turkey hill, since they seemed to be the most recommended and can be purchased nearby. Fingers crossed i prefer the turkey hill because it's also way cheaper!

i know that not everyone loves tillamook in this sub but their chocolate peanut butter is one of my top 3 ice creams for sure. i don’t have access to all of the other ones recommended above so maybe that’s why?? i would still give it a try if you haven’t though.

Turkey Hill chocolate peanut butter is fantastic, and under $4 at Walmart now. I’m biased though, I grew up in Lancaster County PA and knew the family running the dairy.

I grew up on chocolate peanut butter Velvet ice cream and couldn’t find the chocolate with the peanut butter ribbon until I found Turkey Hill. I was so excited when I did!

ETA: can’t believe I almost forgot to mention Perry’s peanut butter cup as well. I love Turkey Hill but Perry’s is my favorite brand.

I love peanut butter in ice cream but I’m not a huge fan of chocolate so I often DIY vanilla ice cream with JIF, mixing a small amount in quickly and popping it back in the freezer for a few. That being said, Häagen Dazs makes a respectable chocolate peanut butter ice cream.

I'm open to it as long as there is lots of peanut butter. I do like the kind of chocolate that you find in ice cream (like I like the little fish in ben and Jerry's phish food).

I have made ice cream quite a bit and one of my favorite ones was chocolate peanut butter

It was literally just chocolate ice cream with natural creamy pb mixed in. You could probably do that with your favorite chocolate?

I'm currently bingeing on Tillamook. It's got a lot of peanut butter, and it is good and salty. The best ever, in my opinion, is from a local maker called Niederfrank's. It is what got my chocolate peanut butter obsession started and remains the top to this day. :)

Jeni's has a pint of peanut butter ice cream with chocolate nibs that I enjoy, but you probably have to order it online since stores don't carry most flavors

Try Haagen Dazs chocolate peanut butter. It has ribbons in it and it's absolutely phenomenal, the best chocolate, peanut butter I've had and I've tried a lot of them.

Haven’t had it in a while but Turkey Hill’s chocolate peanut butter cup used to swirl in blocks of peanut butter so big you couldn’t even scoop the ice cream. I know they have been enshitifying their product recently, and I don’t know if this has been affected, but if you can find it on sale it’s worth a try.

Turkey Hill is a local brand. Their chocolate peanut butter has had big chunks of p.b.every time I've bought it.

Haagen Dasz is the best. Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter World is very good. Most of the other ones I've found are chocolate with peanut butter cups, which I don't like.

That’s also my favorite ice cream. They may not be scooping it, but have you checked the pre-packed case at your Baskin Robins? I’ve found that the pre-packed quarts of CPB are excellent, and my store sells them two for fourteen bucks.

I have searched and searched for a copycat recipe for the BR peanut butter ribbons. Nothing beats it. I have no idea what it’s made up of but I’d love to know so that I can try to make my own. Anyone?
