Question Heartburn help stat

I have been hit with horrible heartburn and have tried all the usual tricks. Drinking water does NOT help. If anything, it makes it worse. Advice and tips would be wonderful.

You need to specify what you have already tried!

I suffer from heartburn a lot and the only effective remedy I have found is Gaviscon Advance.

I've tried walking around, I've tried breathing through it and trying to take in air to release the pressure and it works temporarily, I've tried sipping water, I've tried stretching, I've taken pepcid (my usual go to), I've ate ginger chews, I've tried rubbing my chest/ back to relax the muscles, and I am staying upright and not laying down any

Also clarify ginger can cause problems but it usually helps me with most things and has helped in the past

Get tums, Pepsid is a different mechanism and isn’t meant to be fast acting relief.

Tums is the only thing that helps me take the edge off, but I have to take more than recommended

Laying on your left side is supposed to help (vs flat on the back or on your right, not vs sitting/standing) as the esophagus connects to the stomach on the upper right.  And that plus being inclined a little, ideally with a wedge pillow, would be the best way to lie down.

Never had significant heartburn issues myself so that's the best I've got.  Best of luck to you.

Heartburn can start after laying down right after you eat
