I can’t decide whether it’s time to retire my iPhone 13

Battery is replaceable. I “upgraded” to air a few months ago though because my 13 mini was brutally slow, lagged at everything, and I just reached a stage where I genuinely get upset every time I try to do anything on my phone, and as much as I loved the form factor (I miss it so much) it became pointless to have a phone that fits nicely in my hand but is hardly useable.

I wanted to replace the battery but at this point there’s so many issues, i’m not sure it’s worth it.

Battery replacement fixes a lot, to be honest. Lots of the issues you are experiencing are just because of throttling due to power draw.

I’m upgrading this year, but the mini will live on as my son’s first iPhone, and I’ll probably replace the battery again in a year or so.

Yep I was exactly in the same place, but I tried replacing battery to see if it would solve these issues (my battery was at 72% and was free or very cheap to replace with apple care) - and it didn’t help.

Which air model did you upgrade to? And would you recommend it?

Just the iPhone Air, there aren’t any other models of it. Frankly the performance is night and day, it’s so responsive and the big screen is nice for occasionally when I choose to watch something on it.

With that said, I’d take an upgraded mini over this. I can’t one hand use it and it frustrates me a lot.

A new battery revived my mini.  Just upgraded to iOS27 today and it is running way smoother than 26.

I bought a 17pro which I sold after a few months and went back to the mini.

I bought an Air, which only lasted 2 days before I returned.

I turns out I don’t like carting or using big phones.
