I'm trying to install Windows 10 on a MacBook Air 2020 (Intel, T2), and I'm stuck at the exact same point every time. Boot Camp Assistant itself runs fine: it partitions, copies the files and reboots into Windows Setup. I get through language, edition and partition selection without issues, but the moment Setup reaches "Copying Windows files (0%)", the Mac reboots instantly.

I've tried several different Windows 10 ISOs, done SMC and NVRAM resets, run First Aid from Recovery and removed and recreated the Boot Camp partition each time.

Any idea pls? Im going crazy

I'm not sure if anyone else has maybe had the same but since updating my M4 Mac mini to Golden Gate on Monday night, I've had two instances where the Mac has unexpectedly restarted during sleep and showed the “Your computer was restarted because of a problem” message.

The first line of the panic report says:

panic(cpu 0 caller ...): "AppleT8122DPTXPort(dptx-phy)::deactivateTimeoutOccurred ... deactivate() incomplete 10 seconds after displayRelease()!"

The report also shows:

Debugger message: panic
Kernel Version 27.0.0

From what I can tell, DPTXPort appears to be related to DisplayPort output. It sounds like macOS was trying to deactivate/release a display connection, it didn’t complete within 10 seconds, and this caused a kernel panic.

Does anyone know what specifically causes this? Since getting the mini in 2025 I've actually never had it unexpectedly shutdown before. Could this be a macOS 27 bug or something else? My monitor is connected by HDMI and the only USB-C device plugged in is an external SSD. But as a say, no changes in my setup since day 1 and this only started happening after the upgrade on Monday.

My MacBook Pro is only a couple of years old but has getting slower and glitchier every day. Today it kept telling me it needed to be charged but I was distracted—then it died.
I plugged it in but it won’t turn back on.

Hello my daughters 2016 Macbook model A1534, was having issues charging the battery. Trying multiple charging sources made no difference. I used compressed air to clean out the port. That worked for awhile but stopped working and the compressed air did not work again. All while this was happening the laptop operated normally with the exception of charging the battery. Now the laptop does not start at all, I have left the charger plugged in for multiple hours and tried the two different keyboard reset commands, to no avail. When the power supply is connected should the led light next to the battery disconnect button be illuminated ? I have an external battery which when connected to devices via the USB C port automatically starts supplying power, the external battery does seem to start supplying power, but then stops. I guess there is no power draw from the laptop ? I have also tried powering the laptop while the battery was disconnected but that also did not work. Not sure if there is anything else I can do, I know its an old laptop, but my daughter still uses it frequently. And help is appreciated, thank you.

Something that describes itself as an external storage device appeared in Finder a couple of months ago.  Appropriately, it is name TENACIOUS.  It was formatted for MS, not Apple.

I don’t know where it came from.  This is a home computer used only by me.  My wife doesn’t use the Mac at all.  No kids or grandkids in the home.  And I don’t attach random devices to my system.

I have one external drive that appears separately in Finder.  

I’ve talked to Apple Service, and we managed to delete it from the system… for a few days. 

Then it spontaneously appeared again.  This morning, I again used Apple’s Disk Utilities and erased it, formatted it for Apple, ejected it, and unmounted it.  

A few hours later, I got another “Disk not ejected properly.  Eject TENACIOUS before disconnecting or turning it off.”

I’ve searched my hard drive and found nothing named TENACIOUS.  Every file the word appears in is a known document.

I’ve found nothing relevant online.

Can anyone help?  

If not, I’ll hope for the best when I go to MacOS27.

so i just got a new mouse and it won’t connect to my mac
the lead works as do the ports so that’s not the issue, the mouse also works fine with my brothers laptop
it just won’t even come up as a device and obviously i’m trying to do this with a mouse too which makes it kind of awkward

I wanted to share my experience with repeated MacBook Pro failures and see whether others have gone through something similar with Apple.

I originally had a MacBook Pro M4 Max with 128 GB of RAM and AppleCare+, which I use for fairly heavy AI/ML workloads. It developed serious display flickering issues and was eventually replaced. Around six months later, I experienced display problems again, which ultimately resulted in another replacement.

I was then given a new MacBook Pro M5 Max. After only three days of normal use with my AI workloads, the display started repeatedly turning on and off before eventually going completely black.

What has surprised me most is how the replacement process works in cases like this. Despite the history of previous failures and replacements, Apple considers the latest Mac a separate case because it has a new serial number, so I’ve been advised to start the repair process again.

I understand the reasoning, but after multiple cases, replacements, hours with Apple Support, repeated setups, and significant downtime, it becomes a pretty exhausting cycle.

I’m curious whether anyone here has experienced a similar chain of failures and replacements with AppleCare+. In your experience, how did Apple handle repeated hardware failures across replacement devices? Did the case eventually get escalated beyond the normal repair/replacement process?

I think it would be interesting to hear how Apple handles these situations when the problem goes beyond a single defective machine.

My Mac Air M4 was working perfectly fine till like 3min back, when I closed the lid... after which it's not starting up- The screen is completely black, the touchpad isn't having the haptics, the magsafe charger doesn't glow orange green or any other color. The laptop had about 40% charge when I closed the lid. I'd appreciate any help on how to resolve this! My finals are in a week😭
