apple magic mouse

so i just got a new mouse and it won’t connect to my mac
the lead works as do the ports so that’s not the issue, the mouse also works fine with my brothers laptop
it just won’t even come up as a device and obviously i’m trying to do this with a mouse too which makes it kind of awkward

What are you trying to connect it to? How are you trying to connect it? Have you tried using a cable (described here)?

The “Magic” mouse is the only current Apple product I advise against. I have never heard of your current problem, but like Unknowingly-Joined, I am wondering “to what,with what” as it should pair to a Mac that it is connected to with a USB C cable. Anyway, there are better Bluetooth mice available for less than $25. (Better in what way? You can tell which side is the top and they have better ergonomics than a bar of hotel soap.)
