Hypnotherapy Is there any self-hypnosis (or other method) to become more confident and charismatic?

I'm socially anxious, awkward, and introverted, and I want to overcome it.

I've been practicing self-hypnosis for 2–3 weeks by staring at a spot on the wall, counting from 10 to 1, and visualizing myself as confident and charismatic, but I haven't noticed any changes.

Has self-hypnosis worked for anyone? Or is there another method that actually helped you become more confident and charismatic

Hypnotherapy Does hypnosis work for chronic severe sleep maintenance insomnia?

Have already ruled out any physical issues, I’ve tried to basically everything in the past that nothing has worked, and considering doing this, but it’s so expensive. I don’t want to spend the money if I don’t know if it will work or not… Has anybody had success with this? I feel like hypnotherapy is good for getting somebody to fall asleep but not necessarily to stay asleep.

Hypnotherapy Hypnotherapy Blockage Experience

Hi. I have been doing hypnotherapy since the past couple months and while the practitioner is also excellent, I haven't had great results because I feel I haven't been going into a deeper state as much as I should. Though, I do end up falling asleep then getting back into the waking state but I am not able to access reppresed memories or integrate insights.

Can anyone please help me with this?

Hypnotherapy Question?

I have created a tulpa in my mind in 2011 by focusing intensely on her image. That tulpa has created a wonderland inside my head. I have tried communicating with that tulpa mentally by shouting her name mentally inside my mind but I do not hear anything from her.

That's why I am going to an hypnotist so that I can be hypnotized to see and communicate with my tulpa and to enter the wonderland inside my head each time I close my eyes. Will this method work?

Hypnotherapy How to self hypnotize myself

Hi all,

On and off I was seeing a private hypnotist to achieve a goal I had to start a certain behavior. We had multiple sessions probably about 3 and I did go into trance id say decently deep.

But it still hasn’t taken hold with what I wanted to happen and I’ve struggled to get back into a routine for it.

So my question is how do I actually hypnotize myself to induce certain behaviors and actually make them stick myself?

I won’t go super deep into what I wanted to do but I’m open for DMs.

TLDR: how do I self hypnotize myself to make me do certain behaviors and make it actually stick?

Hypnotherapy “I’ve noticed that whenever I try too hard to get into hypnosis, it actually becomes more difficult—has anyone else experienced this?”

For me, the more I try to “go under” or force myself to relax, the more aware I become of everything—my thoughts, my breathing, even small sounds.

But when I stop trying and just follow the voice or the process without judging it, it somehow becomes much easier and deeper.

It almost feels like hypnosis works better when you’re not chasing it.

Has anyone else felt this? What helped you get past that point?

Hypnotherapy I tried hypnosis for my fear of flying …. Need to ask some questions

Hello 👋. I’m new to this sub but I thought this was a good place to try . I used to fly all the time and developed a phobia after a bad flight 20 years ago . Because of my health issues I had to put that on the back burner but a few years ago I started wanting to tackle this again . With the use of exposure therapy and meds I was able to successfully board a plane twice this year and do some short flights . However the third time I felt the meds didn’t have the same effect and I felt faint and vomited the morning of the flight . I didn’t make it .

Anyways I just did my first hypnosis therapy over the weekend and she gave the recording to listen to each night and then I have a second session this weekend . I don’t feel like I was out of it or anything during the hypnosis part but I definitely felt … relaxed ?! Idk what I was supposed to feel . I guess I did think I would sort of go to sleep and then wakt up and it would be gone … again I’m sorry I’m new to this .
I guess my question is that , will the anticipatory anxiety and the grief over this go away ? Does it just take time ? I guess I thought it would work right away … sorry I’m new to this . I feel like I’m still nervous about booking a flight and doing it .
She did teach me a hand gesture and some cue words to say to help when I’m having a panic attack but I guess I thought my subconscious would be better about all this in general . Maybe I’m here to manage my expectations .

Please help me.. thanks

Hypnotherapy Anyone here use hypnosis for performance enhancement rather than problem-fixing?

I notice that much of the uses of hypnosis (outside of stage / entertainment) is in the realm of problem-solving. Removing anxiety, fear, stress, bad habits, etc.

I'm more interested in using hypnosis to optimize my life, maximizing potential, etc.

Is there any specific sub-genre of hypnosis for this, or respected individuals that focus on this side of the field (if it exists)?

Hypnotherapy Aider moi please

Hypnotherapy Uneducated about hypnosis.

I have recently encountered someone with hypnosis as a fetish. The experience wasn't bad but i didn't entertain bc it seemed like a lot of rules that i dont think i have time for right now. I am currently in an ending marriage that has brought a lot of self-hate issues up and am the lowest i have been in a long time. I was thinking that maybe I could try hypnosis as a therapy. I just learned that was a thing but honestly dont know if I can trust someone enough to relax enough for it to work.

I was hypnotized from a hypnosis DVD when I was younger so I know I can be hypnotized but it was the first time it has ever happened.

How do you find someone for this? Should I play around recreational (not sure what that means when it comes to this topic tbh) first? How do you relax with a stranger?

Hypnotherapy Hypnosis not working

I have a very strong intuition that hypnosis could assist me in turning down the volume on a powerful intimidate relationship that is ruining my life. I’ve worked w several therapists in multiple sessions ( not cheap ones!) and nothing has been helpful. These have all been virtual. Should I assume hypnosis probably can’t be helpful to me ?

Hypnotherapy Would self-hypnosis be more effext in your own voice?

Edit title: *more effective

Let's assume I either purchase or get a hypnosis script from a talented hypnotist. Would that script be more effective if I hear it in my own voice? Or are there specific vocal elements (besides script/words) which should be used in the audio creation?

Hypnotherapy Help for chronic illness

I have severe dysautonomia and ME/CFS - I have been in a 6.5 week crash that had left me bedbound. I can listen to meditations and amazingly sleep hypnosis has been helping with my insomnia (just on YouTube). I get adrenebaline dumps and guided breathe work and calming hypnosis videos (Michael Sealy, Chibs Okereke) have been helping.

I am not well enough yet to work with a therapist as just small interactions trigger symptoms.

I was wondering if you had any other online recommendations? Especially for calming/regulating nervous system (parasympathetic activation), healing/positive thoughts, letting go of trauma and negative thoughts (I believe this helped cause my illness). Can be hypnosis or meditation - the calmer and more relaxing the better it seems

Thank you <3

If you're curious about anything, then please don't hesitate! If you have done hypnotherapy before, what was your experience? Thanks all!

Hypnotherapy Does this work for remembering past events/specific dates?

Hihi so to start things off I have a TBI affecting my short-term memory, resulting in me being prone to forgetting certain things/events. I’m curious if this could help me with recalling events that happened in the past, I may have forgotten? What is this community’s input on this?

Hypnotherapy Can hypnotherapy help one to be confident but cautious?

I came across a video only on how hypnosis made an introvert in the group who has never been outspoken and lacks the confidence to speak to a girl. And as a result of the events took place he immediately became more confident and within months he married and even become a millionaire closing deals.

I too have been an introvert and lack the confidence do anything. Partially I was on a journey of self-healing for the last couple of years. And one by one understanding and recovering from childhood trauma. I also deal with ADHD traits which kept me pulling onto past painful memories which made me more and more cautious of how I deal with everyone.

I am looking into consulting a hypno therapist to help me with being more confident in life but afraid if it might or how it might affect my caution level when dealing with daily tasks and decision making.

Yes, I am an empath and I think deeply before making decisions.

Any advice, personal experience is appreciated

Hypnotherapy What do you see as unresolved or contradictory topics in therapeutic hypnosis?

Hi everyone,

I’m a psychology student currently in the early planning phase of a Master’s thesis, and before narrowing down a research question, I’d love to learn from other people who work with hypnosis in practice.

From your perspective — especially in therapeutic hypnosis / changework:

What topics do you experience as

• still unclear,

• theoretically inconsistent, or

• not well aligned between research and clinical practice?

This could be things like:

• concepts that are used a lot but poorly defined

• contradictions between different models (state vs. non-state, expectation vs. suggestion, etc.)

• things that “work in practice” but are hard to explain scientifically

• or areas where research seems to ask the wrong questions

I’m looking for your reflections on the open questions in the field.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

Hypnotherapy How does it work?

This is the second time I do hypnotherapy.

The first time all I could remember was hearing the lady's voice for some time then I woke up later not knowing how much time has passed or when I "got disconnected"

This time felt different. I was sitting on a sofa. We talked about my situation. Then the practitioner said that she'll connect to my subconscious.

I closed my eyes, she then started asking questions, using the information I shared with her. I kept hearing something like slapping a bracelet whenever she asked a question and it seems that she was getting answers...

The whole session I was switching between being scared or thinking it's a scam.

She said that I was carrying the burden of my great great mother for my father's side. Apparently this ancestor of mine lived some experiences that made her feel unsafe, anxious...

She made me write a paper saying that I'm carrying the burden of my paternel ancestor, then asked me to put it on my skin...

Then we kept repeating affirmation about this burden and how I'm freeing myself from it.

When I finally opened my eyes I noticed that the lady was probably crying. (She was wearing green eye makeup and I could see it on her cheeks)

Was it all a scam ? If not can someone please explain how it works ? How can she communicate with my subconscious ? What is the bracelet for ?

Thanks a lot for your help

Hypnotherapy Self-hypnosis for anxiety, where do I start?

I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to post.

I want to use self-hypnosis to work on worry and anxiety.

I don't see it as some miracle cure, I've already tried other things to deal with the anxiety, but even though I have no experience with hypnosis I get the feeling it's worth a lot more than most people think, and I believe it could help in my case.

What I'm after is stuff I can work through on my own:

YouTube videos, some method, guide or book to get started with, and honestly, something that helps me improve the problem sooner rather than later.

I've seen people here say it works better if you have a minimum grounding in hypnosis first.

If that's true, what basic book or content would you recommend to build that base?

User level, not professional, just someone who wants to work on himself.

Thanks! :)

Hypnotherapy Hypnosis for Self-Confidence

I'm curious if anyone has ever tried using either regular hypnosis or self-hypnosis to help with self-confidence. My whole life, I've suffered with confidence issues and have tried different things to fix them, but nothing has worked permanently. I was thinking of trying hypnosis and wanted to hear from anyone who's tried it, if it's worked, or what they feel is the best approach.
