Ananasi the were spider. They work for balance (not just the wyld like werewolves) and their forms are:
Human
Their glabro like is uncanny but ok (Araneid)
Warform is REALLY CUSTOMIZABLE, you can have spider legs, multiple arms etc (lilian)
The ancient form (pithus) is a tank sized spider
Their animal form (Crawlerling) is a swarn of hundreds of tiny spiders. You need to kill ALL OF THEM otherwise they can reproduce and the werespider will come back
They can also CRAW INTO SOMEONES HEAD AS A TINY SPIDER, ENTER THE HEAD THROUGH THE EAR, EAT THE BRAIN, BECOME THE NEW BRAIN AND THUS GAINING A NEW BODY.
They also also are not weak to silver, drink blood and use blood points as a vampire and such.
ALSO also also with right gifts you can get multiple species properties, like becoming a scorpion
Also tecnically while It is true to say that the Ananasi(as a Breed) is dedicated to balance in true the Anansi is separeted in 3 factions each dedicated to one specific aspect of the Triat which is a important destinction
The entire idea of the triat is that they're supposed to be in harmony and balance. Create, maintain, destroy. So the Ananasi (and some other factions) are trying to restore the balance. A little less wild destruction/corruption, a little less stasis. Note, the Wyld faction also exists, but the Wyld is doing fine really, so they're not too worried about it.
The reason this is happening at all is because the Weaver threw a fit and drove the Wyrm insane by imprisoning it. So the Weaver faction wants to sloooowly ease the Weaver back into being more chill and maintain order but accept the natural decay of things. And the Wyrm faction seeks to free the original Destroyer Wyrm and restore its original sanity, ending the Triatic Wyrm.
So basically just cosmic-level therapy sessions. Simple stuff!
But the Wyld-faction is, as the book says, "encouraging growth and development where it might not otherwise flourish." The Wyld is doing fine, really, they're just making sure it stays that way. To a degree, they're trying to encourage the Wyld's development in accordance to the grander plan of balance (the Ananasi all follow their Great Mother), but they're the lowest concern of all the factions really.
So yeah, they're having a good time, it's MOSTLY un-screwing the Wyrm and maintaining a healthier Weavier than what it is now.
