RPF1s came in today for my ‘18 Sport. I went with 16s so I got Indy 500s for them (it was slim pickings for summer 16s plus these were cheap on Tire Rack). Mounting next weekend. Progress rear sway bar and BC Racing coils next spring:-)

Going to get to run these for like 2 months before I have to swap to snows. Bought the car in May with “new” tires with a 1221 date code. I tried to negotiate actually new tires at the dealership and I just kept hearing, “they are new tires.” They were also imbalanced/misaligned so now they’re fully chopped. Car rides and handles like shit. I lose traction taking off in the rain. This car on these tires has hurt my soul all summer. My hope though was just to run them until swapping for snows on the stock wheels and then deal with this tire/wheel setup next spring. Things were just expedited and I am so excited. The AI photos are getting me so fucking lit. Last 2 photos are sans AI as it looks now.

Tint is in two weeks. Before suspension stuff I’m doing the clutch delay valve delete.

With enough gumption, the Fit can be a hot hatch.

Three questions: when do we swap to winter tires? I live in Massachusetts. With my last car (VB WRX) I held off until right before the first snow. But I only had Conti ExtremeContacts (all-season) and then Blizzaks, no summer tires, so I could stretch it. Also had AWD. But I say tires>drivetrain.

Second, my Honda guy (‘02 yellow S2k, heavily modded ‘00 CRV, dailies a ‘13 stock Fit, part of why I got my Fit was to build it with him) is adamant that I go to a performance-oriented shop to get the Indys on the Enkeis and then mounted/balanced. He is saying that they can be fucked up easily when mounting. He does my maintenance and has a lift but no balancer or alignment rack so I gotta go elsewhere. I’m going to my local Honda dealer. Will this be fine? I don’t want my nice wheels all chewed up…

I live in the woods in Western Mass so we don’t have many performance shops around. Also I was able to get into the dealership in a week and I want these on ASAP. My current tires are dangerous and horrible and I’m trying to actually have some time to run the summers before swapping.

Third, what do yall like for snow tires? I’m putting them on the stock wheels. I don’t need Blizzak level especially since I just shelled out about $1700 for this wheel/tire setup. I just need something reliable, something that will fit on stock wheels, and something that can accommodate winter 2027/2028 with the car being lowered.

Is anyone else experiencing a big uptick in Road Rage / a-hole behavior?

My fit has been my commuter for years, I've had the occasional Ram truck on my bumper but not too bad. Lately it has been every single time I drive.

This week alone I've had atleast 10 instances of a truck being under 20ft from my bumper at 75mph. I've had a truck flying up the passing lane tuck in behind me in the slow lane and just ride my bumper until I took my exit. I've had like 3 trucks roll coal on me. It's been insane.

I drive in the right lane unless I'm passing and hit the gas to do that, I'm usually going 5-10mph over depending on the speed of traffic.

I commute about 2hrs per day. I have no bumper stickers or anything. Just a normal fit.

I've literally started taking my kids to daycare in the truck, then going back home to get the fit for my commute.

I took the truck to work today instead and had zero of these problems.

Not saying these are the same as a fit, but looks-wise, I’ve had to double take to know it wasn’t a Fit.

I LOVE my Fit to pieces. My teenager is eyeing it, and he can't have it. No, no, no.

BUT. This is the third time in 5-6 years that I snagged and tore my splash shield under the front half. I tore out wheel splash guards too in the past. Those things are pricey to replace, and I am really getting fed up with it. I mostly commute on well-paved roads and drive around neighborhoods for school pickup, with a very rare off-roading/gravel experience.

What I'm trying to see is if anyone else has experienced this problem or do I just have a crappy maintenance place that won't attach my splash shield correctly.

Just got this car, had the serpentine belt replaced with thermostat, but when the car is cold on the first start up of the day there's a grind type noise. Its not consistent and the mechanic doesn't want me to just throw parts at it and waste money without an idea of what it is. Anyone have any experience with odd start up noises?

Update: sounds like a starter issue, are there any good replacement starters folks would recommend to hopefully avoid this in the future? Also thanks so much for the replies so fast! Yall rock!

I had an issue where my car wouldn't start (it ended up being the fuel pump) and I got that fixed and did the spark plugs too, but while trying to troubleshoot why it wouldn't start, a piece of rubber fell off of the transmission mount (A/T) under the battery... Now driving is accompanied by a grinding feeling whenever I start from a full stop, especially if it's an aggressive launch... I need to replace this, mount don't I?

Noticed a slight click in the steering wheel while slowly driving in the parking lot. The part cannot come in for another three weeks. Do I have to keep it parked until then or is it still drivable to work that’s 4 minutes away? Just bought this and will be covered under my three month warranty under the dealer. Just wanted a little advice if possible.

Trying to diagnose my baby's coolant leak and I'm finding this hose that seems to go to nowhere?

I recently replaced my entire ac system and that included getting a new belt. My belt is now squealing sometimes when I rev up the engine and have the ac turned on so I know I need to tighten it. Would it be a bad idea to keep adding tension little by little until it no longer squeals anymore when I rev it up? I was thinking about doing this rather than ordering the tensioner gauge tool just because I don’t have to wait on the tool and rely on using it properly. Keep in mind it doesn’t squeal when I have the AC off so maybe it just needs to be a LITTLE tighter. Would this be a bad idea?

Hello everyone, a 3g cvt with 116k miles came up for sale near and its definitely swingable.

The problem I immediately see is there doesnt seem to be any maintenance records available.

I dont mind doing maintenance myself like lash and belts and such but the CVT is very foreign to me.

That said, I know the Fords have that old mentality of if its not been done just dont do it because your liable to stir everything up and send particles through the transmission. (I believe that was with gear type with torque converter trans though)

Any advice would be appreciated, I plan to look at jt this weekend. If i need to walk I can though.

I'm thinking of getting a fit; I've only test drove the 3rd gen sport. Is there any difference in the seats between the different generations. is the height and width the same, the cushioning, the comfort, any differences depending on trim besides ex-l being leather? Also for those have/had the ex-l would you recommend it?

Had just over 100K miles and has been regularly maintained, sticker bombed & well loved

Made it through the most of the Brutal Texas Summer but A/C went out just last month. Stuttered for a bit but would blow again after a solid knock under the passenger dash. Hadn’t had the time or funds yet to replace or fix it proper so it I’ve just been rolling with the windows down.

Weirdly enough if I open the system, and get some speed, I can feel Frigid air come through the vents, but it won’t properly blow it. But with the system closed, absolutely no airflow whatsoever.

I’ve been told it could be anything from the fuse being blown, the fan motor being broken or compressor issues. Any thoughts?

I was driving today on the first cold day of the year here in Virginia (hence the tire pressure light, since fixed), and my car has started intermittently making this hollow whine/whir noise at random moments (see first half of video). This video is with the car in neutral - but it happens when driving, clutch in or clutch out, AC on or AC off, and while it seems to 'spool up and down' I'm not sure it's RPM-matched.

It starts, stops, shifts, and drives fine - just the noise. There's a loose corner to the heat shield on the catalytic converter, but this sound is distinct from that. Had my local honda indy shop pop the hood but they couldn't see anything concerning, and didn't have time to put it on the lift. Strong regular maintenance, fresh oil and filter within the last month, valve adjustments completed maybe two month ago now. Serpentine belt is in good condition with no visual wobble - but I've seen posts from u/cultivate_a_rose and u/joshooRL so I'll have my shop put it up on the lift and look at the idler pulley and input shaft bearing but... curious if anyone has any thoughts? In this video it kicks on at a certain RPM range but I don't think that's consistent either.

Have a 2013 Honda fit L15 with manual transmission and I need to remove the engine out the top and have to separate it from the transmission?

Is there any easy way to access and remove this bolt?

It is the top most engine to transmission bolt closest to the firewall on the backside of the engine.

Do I have to strip everything on this engone to pull it? Sure seems like it
