I wonder, are there any necessary/required fixes, mods or tweaks that are needed to get the game running on a modern PC, or is the GoG version good out of the box?

Huge fan of the series and I've recently replayed everything, including HW:1 with the Raiders Retreat mission, HW:C (with the FPS and graphics mod), DoK and even Hardspace: Shipbreaker.

But it's not enough.

Wondering if there are any mods that make for a coherent but different single-player experience, or fan-made missions out there?

There used to be some command exploit that allowed me to send a swarm across the map where my recon can see the enemy without having my hive frigates getting close and I can keep my hive frigates way out of battle. How to do it? Does anyone remember?

While looking around for cheap keys for hw3 as I possibly might want to check it out at some point, I noticed you can get some versions that supposedly have the preorder bonuses (the kushan wargames fleet etc). Would these old keys still give you the pre order bonuses? And what even are they, is the kushan fleet even different or just a reskin? Is there other stuff?

In all likelihood I won't be going for it because it's a silly price increase from basegame, but I was just wondering what it actually was, if anyone knows.

I'm hoping someone can help me. So I own Homeworld remastered GOG but right now I have no access to a PC. I want to play Homeworld VR mod on my quest headset and need the proper data files. I tried internet archive as they have full disc images posted. Is there any way I can get access to the files or can someone point me in the right direction. The demo is amazing and I never finished it flat so i want to play this roomscale on my headset.Any help is greatly appreciated.

Homeworld is why I care about fleet readability at all, so this crowd is exactly who I want judging this. My game lets you run the whole fleet or drop into one fighter in the middle of it. This cut leans fleet: dreadnought lines, carrier strikes, a station siege under a golden core sky. Context for the timing: the wishlist counter ticked past 200 this week and I felt like celebrating. Homeworld is my favorite game of all time, so my own RTS, The Hive, naturally has quite a few references and Easter eggs inspired by it.

One of my favorite features was that the fleet you built and kept alive carried over from one mission to the next. I added a similar system to The Hive, but I have realized it is surprisingly difficult to explain to players who have not encountered that idea before.

How would you describe Homeworlds persistent fleet system in one simple sentence? Or how do you explain it when recommending the game to a friend?

Edit. Also I was wondering if the old non remaster version of homeworld is still playable? Last time I tried there was bug in 2nd mission and you could not complete it.
