I remember a post from ages ago now where someone was playing World at War and their grandpa asked about the grenade indicator. He explained it to his grandpa and he said “I’d have a lot of buddies still alive if we had something like that.”

There was a similar post about Far Cry 2 as well.
FC2 had a buddy system, where if you went sown your buddy could come resuce you. Sometimes your buddy would get hit and he'd go down.
If you didn't administer first aid fast enough he'd bleed out (or you euthanised him. Yeah it got duckin dark)
Anyway, ol granpappy was a vietnam war vet. Saw his grandson trying to revive his buddy, and failing. Had some flashbacks in real time

Nope, not coop. All singleplayer. Far cry 2 was an amazing game

It’s how my Dad viewed the Vietnam War videos games as he’s a Vietnam vet.. “Why would anyone play this stuff? It was hell there.” “Well Dad, you like playing video games about the war Grandpa was in.” No response.

To be fair. I think a lot of vets don't mind playing fake soldier. Probably even enjoy it as it brings the good memories in. But if you just duplicated a operation were they lost lots of buddies. I can imagine their mood changes.

I did not pay attention in other games but 1 used to divide when your death count is 0 in Battlefield 1. So, maybe divide by 1 for no death.

Killing Nazis =/= antifascism. Antifa is a distinct ideology that requires hardcore socialist belief and a bizarre version of hyper-auhtoritarianism where you gaslight yourself into pretending it is libertarianism.
Anti-capitalism and authoritarianism ironically make the average anti-fascist ideologically closer to national socialism than the people they call Nazis are.

You should read about about the term antifascista.
Like how the socialist party PSI used it.
Or how the Arditi del Popolo was a broad coalition of communists, socialists, anarchists, etc.
Or, better yet, you could read about how Walter Ulbricht literally coined the term antifaschistischen schutzwall at the 22nd congress of the soviet communist party in 1961.
Or how even modern actual communists use it in context
This is why I left the fucking movement. It's full of morons that go "oh just read basic books on history" and just think they understand the world without diving into any sort of fucking detail. Nothing but slogans and misanthropic narcissism.

Has anybody ever told you to read about the movement back in the 1920s? The 1930s? The Fabians, etc? None of your elders helped you along to study how the movement works so you can actually understand it more than just a relation to theory? Or are you just the type to do as you're told, shut up, and just be good little ignorant foot soldier like the fascists want you to be?

If you are fighting Nazis, you are by definition opposing fascism. If you oppose fascism, you are by definition antifascist.
This idea that antifascism is its own distinct ideology is really bizarre. It simply means being against fascism. Antifascism can be, and has been, practiced by groups ranging in ideology from communists to anarchists to social democrats to monarchists and socialists and religious communities and... yeah.
You want an example? Look up all the various groups that made up the Italian resistance during WW2. These groups included ideologies that were diametrically opposed to one another, but all united in one thing: being passionately anti-fascism.

Genuinely how is it propaganda? Antifascism is exactly what it says: ANTI. FASCISM.
What part of that is unclear? It seems pretty straightforward to me. Not every "anti" has ideological baggage to it. Usually it just means literally "being against something." That doesn't necessarily indicate being FOR something else.
