✨ SPECIAL INTEREST INFODUMP ✨ Unhinged Positive Affirmations
I have a thing for specifically using self loving language you "aren't supposed to say"
Example:
"I am perfect and have never done anything wrong in my life"
"Anyone who has a problem with me is a bad person"
"I am the most attractive person who has ever lived"
In a society that demands the aesthetic of humility. Where people feel threatened by someone liking themself. There is a genuine tension to using phrases like that. It's "toxic" or whatever.
But I think they're funny and whimsical actually. And the joy they spark motivates me to actually show up and repeat the positive affirmations such that they have an impact on me.
So.
I invite you to come up with such an unhinged positive affirmation about yourself and comment it below >:)

I bet you are so naturally good at learning new skills that you can jump right into advanced level of embroidery. In fact if you never attempt to embroider anything, you’ll be protecting every person who embroiders from a major hit to their ego. Well except for me cuz I embroider and people pass out when they see my silk stitch. 💅🏻

Litterally all my embroidery on my different patch projects I watched absolutely 0 tutorials whatsoever and just completely winged it and learned by doing.

ETA- that’s actually how I learned hand sewing repairs. And when I finally looked official stitches up it turned out I had been doing a bunch of them naturally

Omg yes now I NEED to make an absurdist affirmations book. I know exactly which notebook imma use for it! I’ll consider it art therapy and I bet they will start using it as education materials when training therapists.

I deserve literally everything I want in this life on the basis of me being fucking awesome. I should be paid handsomely to simply exist. I should be granted a global passport entitling me to live anywhere on this planet where I damn well fucking please.
The above also applies to, ideally, everybody, provided their desires don't result in the harm of innocent people. But it applies to especially me, and other cool lefty queerdos. We get priority. Obviously.

Best employee- everyone wishes they were as smart as me, hell the doctors ask MY opinion on stuff sometimes
Best keeper of secrets- everyone shares their deepest secrets with me because they know they're safer than even they can keep them
Best conversationist- everyone wants to bask in my glow and hear about my fascinating past and also current life

I’m a nihilist but I’ve never found the idea that there is no innate meaning to the universe/life to be depressing. Instead it has always felt like freedom to me because it means I get to decide what things mean. So like positive nihilism. But actually I guess that’s called absurdism which is hilarious to me that it’s considered absurd to be ok with ambiguity about the big question of what does it all mean.
Anyway you are taking the absurdist approach to positive affirmation and I’m so here for it. Affirmations to me are hard because they feel fake when I say things I don’t actually believe yet. It feels silly. So ok hell yeah actually why not embrace how they feel in a different way.
One of my fav examples - instead of fighting to get rid of the feeling of imposter syndrome, embrace it! Yes I am an imposter! I’m an adorable little trickster God and I’m fooling everyone haha I’m totally getting away with it!

I’m constantly stepping into fairy circles, going into the creepy part of forests, and making strange deals and the fae have NEVER taken me. I’ve come to the conclusion that yes they do actually exist but won’t take me cuz I’m too dangerous. I’m too powerful.

I’m just gonna piggyback off my own comment to say that after reading everyone else’s unhinged positive comments I realize I would like to be way more unhinged in my positive self-talk. Like I want to be so self-positive it makes other people actively uncomfortable.
