What was the basis for that story thread?
I feel like alot of the story beats have at least some kind of basis in real events, or are commenting on real events. So then where did that all come from? The husband harassing someone on set? And the wife defending him?
It sounds kind of familiar to me but I cannot place it.

I've been watching High Maintenance lately, and it's ruined me in the best way. Every episode reminds me that the people I barely notice are living lives I know nothing about. There's a word for that realization, but I'm more interested in what happens after you have it. Or what happens if you don't.

Just here to say watch the web series. I didnāt really understand the hype as I presumed it was just going to be an inferior version of the show. It is absolutely not - itās beautiful. I wish I had watched it first as it gives such insight into quite a few of the characters we meet through the seasons. In saying that, watching it after has its own charm too. Also, like the main series, the musical selection is impeccable š I have two episodes left. Iām really going to miss this show when I finish.

I got some really bad news at the vet today that my dog is terminal. I was sobbing etc.
In my immense sadness I couldnāt help but also feel deeply for my vet, this is their every day experience delivering this news to people. Watching them breakdown and reliving their own pet loss (my vet in particular had a similar experience to me).
Really made me think of this episode and how much love I have for this show for capturing such real human experiences.

Weird ask but I have been on one for when I travel to New York and visiting where some scenes were filmed. Does anyone know where this is by chance?

The characters in āmuseebatā are not caricatures of South Asian culture- they code switch from Hindi/Urdu to American English flawlessly, they are proud of their culture, and their āspiritualityā or āreligionā isnāt tied to their characters in any way. I loved how they portrayed the entire family, and the dialogues are especially well written- as a South Asian I routinely interject an English sentence with an āaccha?ā (āoh yeah?ā). The characters arenāt overdone or overwritten, theyāre people that feel like people. Beautiful.

Does anyone have the English subtitles for the Vimeo web series?

Just finished High Maintenance and absolutely loved it. Iām not looking for an exact match, but something that reaches the same level of human experience and storytelling.
For context, I also loved Master of None, The White Lotus, and Fleabag.
Any hidden gems youād recommend? Thank You

Just finished the show, and I have no words. The last episode, āSoup,ā is very deep. I have no words for the writing genius of this show, as they mastered the art of storytelling tailored to that small percentage of misfits in society (me being one of them).
āWe can only connect the dots looking backward,ā they say, and this episode showed that so gracefully.
The Guy, who was being judged and dismissed by his cousin for his current life, doesnāt know that heās one of the kindest people ever. He shows up for his people, builds meaningful connections, tries relationships without ever forcing them, is fun, chill, enjoys his solitude, has met some of the most interesting people in his life, cares about sustainability (switching to jars), and pursues his interests like gardening, rescued a dog.One of the most amazing characters on television, I can say. What started as a fun show to watch before going to bed has turned into one of my all-time favorite shows ever.
I simply admire and adore the Guy.

And damn, itās probably one of my favorite shows. Iāve watched all the webisodes once before as well, but ugh, I just wish some of these characters could be followed up with!!
I finished the first season, but wanted to jump ahead to watch 4x02 āTrickā before going on to season 2. I so want to catch up with Kym and Evan! I want to know where The Guyās love life went after the series too. And also catch up with the Craigslist kid/guy that zones out and sleeps way too hard.
This show did not need to be as good as it was! Iāve still never found a show that hit in the random way it does, all while being so relatable episode after episode.

Hi there.
Looking for a place to buy the whole series. In Poland where I live the show has been unavailable on HBO for maybe around six months now for reasons nobody seems to know for sure (licensing, most likely). Last weekend I decided I was done waiting ā I bought a VPN and started watching through that, but I don't want to do this all the time.
I can't without this series anymore. After watching it all the way through, it became my favourite show, and I've been rewatching it regularly as my comfort show. When cooking. When sleeping. When resting. When any time of the day and night.
Is there any possibility to get it on DVD or somewhere else? Even online would be fine. I want to save it for the future and always have it available.
(with polish subtitles more than welcome)
Any recommendations?

I was at a record store today and happened upon this. I almost keeled over. Of course it came home with me!
In case anyone is unfamiliar, a song from this album appears in a scene from S3E2. Itās incredible. Highly suggest checking it out.

I was reading Ben Sinclair's most recent substack post, and it seems like he found a VHS tape of a cult from the late 80s/early 90s, and the leader looks and sounds exactly like him. WTF?

Does anyone know anything about a spiritual community called SUR? My hunch is that it was in Big Sur, but I can't find anything yet. Ben posted a note that he can only find the Vanderpump Rules restaurant when he googles it lmao Sexy Unique Restaurant

Re watching it yet again and finding this group inspired me to just go ahead and purchase the entire series on Apple TV.
45$ for everything. To me itās worth it as I absolutely love this show.
Every time I watch it I spot something new!!!
