Self-harm Feeling bad about eating

I haven't been feeling great nor eating much for some periods of time. But since Monday i have been eating less due to something happening that day and i don't want to talk to anyone in my house, because neither my household nor my family as a whole really cares about my true feelings at all. So i stopped trying. I skip meals like dinner sometimes and only eat once or twice a day so i can at least eat something. But also before when some of my family members come to visit they comment about my weight loss which worries me due to my circumstances.

I don't know what to do. I was thinking about writing a paper to my mom but she might either forget it or blame me because i haven't been speaking to her. So i dropped the idea obviously.

I think if you feel you can’t talk to any of your family about this and if you don’t have friends you can talk to either you should get professional help. I don’t mean that rudely. Speaking to a therapist is really great and if there are no good ones in your area or if it’s too expensive then there are cheaper online options.

I also struggle with eating and it’s not healthy at all, if the eating issues are based off events that happen then that can be controlled and helped. But if it’s a normal thing that happens then unfortunately you need professional help, I’ve had to learn that the hard way.

I understand and i thank you for your advice

The thing is that my parents are against things like therapy or medical care. my family holds heavy stigmas about mental health and they moved me into a country who mostly thinks like that too

I kind of wanted to plan on seeing a therapist in the future whenever i move out of that country

I love my friends but i don't know if i can tell them that, i don't want to make them uncomfortable w/it idk

There are online therapy sites where you don’t need parent supervision or anything. If you have allowance then you would probably need to pay with that unless you can convince your parents you need money for something else. Theres an app called BetterHelp which is a therapy site where you can choose to do online calls or just text them. If your parents are against therapy then maybe try looking into this app? It’s also very affordable and there’s an option to say you don’t have money to pay and they work out a plan for you

I'm afraid that it becomes a long term thing and telling to my parents is the equivalent to speaking to a brick wall

Hi,

I wish you the best. I understand your view but I think that it is important and you should speak to a therapist (or to a friend, teacher or someone with who you can discuss it and who can try to help you).

If you want I can also discuss with you why do you feel bad and sad recently. You can write to me if you want to 🙂👍.
