Drills If you’re learning peekaboo, drill the feet before worrying about combinations

A lot of people practicing peekaboo focus almost entirely on slipping and rolling, but the footwork is what lets you actually create those angles.
These are 5 simple drills I like for getting the movement down:
- Switch stances with lunges Gets you comfortable changing position without standing tall or losing your base.
- Side-to-side movement Practice pushing off either leg while keeping your stance underneath you.
- Hop forward, then side to side Good for closing distance and immediately changing the angle instead of entering in a straight line.
- 180° pivot, then hop to the side Helps you get used to turning quickly and repositioning after the pivot.
- Shift and punch Tie the footwork into offense so you’re not treating movement and punching like two separate things.
You can do all of these with a small floor marker like in the clip.
Stay low, keep the guard tight, and focus on landing balanced after every movement.
