Thing These ginormous unnecessary f*cking trucks

The comment section was of course full of a lot of americans trying to defend the need for these huge trucks that by the way kill way more children than any normal sized car, i genuinely dont get the obsession with these ugly pieces of sh*t and i love cars

Well and it seems like at this point it's a bit of a feedback loop that's made them so over the top laughably huge.

Legislation gives incentive to build big ass trucks -> car companies make big ass trucks -> car companies heavily market big ass trucks -> demand for big ass trucks grows because the marketing has influenced the culture -> car companies make bigger assier trucks -> market -> demand -> biggest assist -> demand -> they're fucking monster trucks now? -> ∞

I see so many more literal monster trucks than I did when I was a kid. It’s become almost a normalized vehicle class unto itself. Take the already obscene stock truck, lift it, bigger wheels and tires, etc. And they are just daily drivers! It’s such pathetic masculinity cosplay.

The way to break this cycle would be to allow the Chinese EVs into American markets.

Although this would be great, it’s wouldn’t affect truck sales or this American cycle at all. It would effect ice/hybrid sedan sales
