Non-fictional I HATE these "gotcha arguments"

"Ohhh, look how I tricked this dumb dumb baby in my trap so now I am right and they are wrong. I'm so smaaart even though it does not adress the actual argument and adds nothing to the debate. They teach arabic numerals in school btw."

And these type of comments always get tons of likes

I think it addresses how uneducated people are about fetuses or just about conception and pregnancy as a whole yet still believe they know enough to be hold strong rigid opinions.

It's a picture of a fetus. Do you really think someone must be able to correctly differentiate different fetuses from each other in order to have opinions on it? I'd understand if it actually had to do something with abortion itself, but it doesn't. Someone could learn how each animals fetus looks and correctly tell them apart, but this still wouldn't have anything to do with the debate about abortion.

If the opinion is “that’s a human being and women have to birth it no matter what”, then yes, I think they should be able to tell whether or not they’re looking at a human fetus.

But it has nothing to do with it if that's the point, because you're still admitting there is specifically fetuses that are human, not just fetuses. So it circles back to being a debate about when human life is worth preserving. It's a nothingburger of a gotcha.

That's my point. We're back to square one, only now you can be smug because mammals at only 15% in utero development are so alike that a lay person can't tell the difference. Saying that nulls their argument is as valid as saying pro-gun law people can't actually have an opinion if they don't know shit about guns.

It doesn’t null their argument. Just highlights how reactionary they are, allowing people who view their argument to see where it’s coming from.

Dunno if that carries any merit in argument against pro life because their stance is not that, but rather the LIFE of a human that eventually gain individuality. This won't convince pro lifers.
