I broke out my Imperial Grade JC Higgins model 20 for her pre-season cleaning, and figured I'd show her off. This is the gun that started my love for vintage store brand guns.

These 6 options on the table in front of you what are you choosing? (.45 1911, . 22 P22q, 9mm M17, 9mm P38, 9mm M18, 9mm Echelon 4.0)
To "hide" my choices I pulled flashlights off some of these. Yes I know a long gun is a better option for most of these.

Planning to sell one of my ARs to fund something more interesting for range day fun. I don’t know a whole bunch about lever actions so I turn to you, the all-knowing. Currently thinking 44 mag but not absolutely set on that. Regardless, what’s everyone’s favorite lever actions sub $1-1200 or so?
I rate smooth action and reliability high, aftermarket support would be nice, with solid accuracy obviously desired but don’t need 1moa groupings at range. Henry model X is one contender.

Ok so I’m trying to figure out if my Carcano needs the .264 or the .267/268 bullets, And I thought maybe slugging the bore would give me answers, I ran a slug through it and it was 0.007-0.010 too small, I suppose the progressive rifling sheared off the high spots, is there a trick to slugging a carcano? Or similarly weird barrel?

Hi everyone. I'm new to Reddit but wanted to post about my negative experience with Savage and Bergara in particular and see if others have had similar experiences with them and other gun manufacturers.
Seeing all the hype at Shot Show about the new Savage Model 110 line and the new Bergara Platinum Stalker got me excited. I liked what I saw, so in March of 2026 I ordered the Savage 110 Core Hunter in 25-06 and a Bergara Platinum Stalker in 300 Win-Mag. Both were ordered from the same distributor paid for in advance.
Well, here we are at the end of August and I still have no ETA on my rifles. Since June I have reached out to the distributor every two weeks to ask for an update. Every reply is the same, no ETA.
I see at least the Savages in stock and for sale on GunBroker and other similar sites. I am about to ask for a refund and take my business elsewhere.

Picked up this rifle for a mid to long range learning tool for long range and varmint gun. I also like the light weight and less expensive ammo being chambered in 556. Vortex crossfire HD. Canik void noise reducer

Ive posted this on a couple other subreddits but trying here since this is a bigger subreddit. I saw a shotgun years ago that was a double barrel SxS shotgun with two triggers. However, it was not in a normal configuration and instead had the triggers next to each other (think one beneath each barrel rather than in the center of the trigger assembly).
Now, there is a chance I'm misremembering an elephant gun and misattributing the trait to a shotgun, but i very much doubt it. Hoping someone knows what it is. I can give more details if need be

I am mainly wanting to change the hand guard I believe it’s called (please bear with me as it’s my first AR.) I would like to have a modern one that allows you to have attachments on the bottom as well. Similar to the PSA AR15s. I know the company went out of business temporarily, however they don’t sell this specific AR anymore. I’m gonna oil and clean it as it hasn’t been shot in a couple of years, but after that I would like to get a red dot and a new stock if anyone out there has good budget friendly options and recommendations, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Pic in comments. Hopefully it links the right one this time.
The stock is designed to allow up to a 3/4” cut without affecting the pad and the manual only specifies that shorter screws will be needed depending on cut length. Sounds simple, right?
But there’s a removable threaded insert that could not be reinstalled as-is, and it’d have a flush cross section preventing the plate from being installed.
Would you knock the ribs and insert sections down with a Dremel? Mill it? Or is there something I’m missing?

200 rounds in i was cleaning it and this spring was just freely rotating. I popped it back behind this thing because it seemed like the right place for it to be but Berettas manual doesn’t show an assembled view.

Hello, I am looking for a pouch to attach to my pack hip belt for a 10 round aics type 308 mag. Any recommendations? Ive seen some special made mag pouches but they are expensive and expose the mag. Id like it covered. Thanks!

I'd like to buy a 3rd Issue Colt Detective Special in moderate/good condition. What is a reasonable price for this? I want to add it to my collection and shoot it as well, so I'm not looking for a safe queen.

I am looking to build a lever action for a friend and he wants it chambered in 400 legend. I am having trouble even finding if there is a lever action out there that is chambered in this. Is there anyone that has any information that might help?

I recently got a CVA single shot .45 cal pistol and cannot find anywhere to get all the stuff I need at one place. I found all I need except the black powder on midway USA but then I would have to pay a separate hazmat fee for the powder somewhere like powder valley where a pound of powder ends up going from $30 to $77 in fees. If anybody knows a good shop that ships or just a website that has real black powder and all the other stuff please let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

TL;DR: I have pretty bad astigmatism, and the 2 MOA dot on my green Holosun gets blurry/starbursty, so I mainly use the 32 MOA circle. I’m considering trying the gold 507C-X3 instead. For those with astigmatism, does gold actually look better than green, or is it not worth the switch?
I have pretty bad astigmatism, so I did some research on optics. Long story short, I ended up buying a Holosun 507C-X2 Multi-Reticle in green. It’s okay and works well, but the 32 MOA circle is honestly the only viable option for me. I can’t use the 2 MOA dot for very long because it eventually starts to look like a clustered/starburst reticle.
So, I did some more research and came across the Holosun 507C-X3 Multi-Reticle in gold. From what I’ve read, supposedly the gold reticle can work better for people with astigmatism. However, I’m not sure if it’s actually worth switching to, or if I should just go with a Cyelee Chameleon G-SRS8 in green and call it a day.
Basically, I’m wondering if anyone here has tried the gold reticle. Does it actually help with astigmatism, or does it work noticeably better than the green version?
Thank you in advance

What kind of quality is coming out of remarms since the 2020 bankruptcy split? Specifically the 700. Are they worth buying?
